Come Visit the House When You Have Time
Avery wore a new silver-gray ceremonial robe made of summer worsted wool from Italy's old weaving workshop. It was neatly dressed and looked like a very energetic young man.
Old Cuthbert was talking to a middle-aged wizard next to him, occasionally laughing, short and decent.
Avery came forward quickly, with half a piece of foie gras bread stuffed in his mouth, his cheeks bulging, and his words were slurred. "Regulus, come on, this is delicious!"
After saying that, he grabbed Regulus's sleeve and walked to the long table next to him.
Regulus was dragged by him. He had just picked up the plate and had not even taken two bites before he was dragged by the little old man to patrol the place. He was indeed a little hungry at the moment.
He took another plate, put two pieces of grilled Steak, a spoonful of mashed potatoes, and picked a few slices of smoked salmon.
Avery has piled the third piece of lobster meat on his plate next to him. He is still chewing a bite, and his fork reaches for the plate of veal stewed with truffles.
Regulus then inserted a piece and put it in his mouth. It tasted really good.
Avery said while eating, without stopping for a moment. "Did you see the collar button of that France guy? Eagle and Lily, do you think I can get one?"
Regulus hummed.
"Have you seen the people from Crabbe and Goyle? Sitting together, they are so big that the bench is suffering."
Regulus hummed again.
"My father asked me to say hello to Greengrass family, and I hit him. His kid's nostrils were turned upward. He thought that his brother became Prefect and the whole family was great. When he talked to me, his chin could hit the upper part of his shoe--"
Regulus Continue eh.
Avery didn't care, Regulus That's it, he changed the topic again, with a little more excitement in his voice. "This wedding is really grand. Look at the ceremony, the touch of your two wands, and the crown of light, I was stunned!"
After talking about the wedding, it turned to the food. "Let's go to the dessert area. I just saw a chocolate lava cake, and it's still steaming."
Regulus stopped looking at him, swallowed the food in his mouth, took a sip of wine, and turned his eyes to Old Cuthbert not far away.
He straightened his sleeves, held the wine glass, and walked over.
Avery was stunned for a moment, with his mouth still open. He ran out of room to put his words in the middle of the sentence. He stood there and looked at Regulus's back, and quickly followed.
Regulus glanced sideways at him but didn't chase him away.
Avery shrank his neck, became quiet, and followed behind.
Old Cuthbert happened to send away the middle-aged wizard who was chatting with him. He turned around and saw Regulus walking over, with a friendly smile on his face, "Regulus."
Regulus stopped in front of him with a straight posture. "Mr. Cuthbert."
Old Cuthbert laughed, his eyes moved from Regulus to Avery behind him, and then back again. "You have worked hard this year. I heard that France also went to work there?"
Regulus also glanced at Avery, and then turned back. "I went there to finish the matter at the manor."
"It's amazing, it's amazing." Old Cuthbert said it twice in a sincere tone. After saying it, he looked at Avery again, with a hint of helplessness in his smile.
This kid was standing behind and listening hard, with an expression on his face that said I was listening attentively, but he obviously couldn't keep up with the rhythm.
Old Cuthbert looked away and continued chatting with Regulus: "What are your plans for this summer vacation? If you are not busy, you are welcome to come to our home. There is a small manor in Nice. I will stay there for a while during the summer vacation. If you are willing to come with us, Cuthbert family is very welcome."
"Yeah, yeah!" Avery popped up from behind: "The beach over there in Nice--"
Old Cuthbert glanced at his son, Avery closed his mouth and retracted it again.
"Thank you for your invitation, Mr. Cuthbert," Regulus smiled, "This summer vacation may not be convenient, I have some things to do at home."
He took a sip of wine, his tone unchanged, and continued, "By the way, father said that he would like to invite you to Grimmauld Place during the holidays."
Old Cuthbert smiled and nodded, thinking it was just a courtesy, "Okay, I will definitely come to visit you another day. How is Orion doing? Last time we met at Wizengamot, he looked good."
"Very good," Regulus replied first, then raised his head and looked at him with gray eyes calmly. "If you have time tomorrow, you can bring Avery as a guest."
Old Cuthbert's smile stopped on his face.
At a wedding, casually mentioning that you can come and sit on another day is just polite and no one will take it seriously. For a formal social visit, you need to write a letter in advance, make an appointment, and hand over a greeting card.
But when I invite you to this kind of occasion, and even the date is set, it means that something has happened, it's not a big deal, it's not convenient to talk about it here, and it's a bit urgent.
Orion asked his son to send a message at the wedding instead of writing a letter, explaining that this event cannot leave any written traces, and it is either a big or bad event.
What is Black family's latest trend? Who is it related to? What needs Cuthbert family's cooperation?
These thoughts quickly passed through his mind without any change on his face, and he nodded with a smile, "Just in time, I haven't had tea with Orion for a while, tomorrow afternoon?"
Regulus also looked relaxed. "At two o'clock in the afternoon, my father is at home."
"Okay."
Avery stood behind, with a confused expression on his face.
Why did we change from talking about summer vacation arrangements to going to Black family tomorrow? Didn't Regulus just say that he was busy at home during the holidays?
Old Cuthbert glanced at his son's expression and twitched the corner of his mouth.
He turned around and smiled at Regulus. His tone was relaxed, but somewhat entrusting. "Let this kid stay with you more in the future and learn something."
Regulus also glanced at Avery and raised his glass to Old Cuthbert: "Avery helped me a lot."
Avery Hearing this, his waist straightened up visibly.
Old Cuthbert smiled and shook his head, patted Regulus on the shoulder, held the wine glass and walked in the other direction, leaving the place to the young man.
Avery came over with a look of confusion on his face. "What's going on? Will I go to your house tomorrow? Mr. Black have something to do with my father?"
Regulus hummed.
"What's the matter?"
"You'll know tomorrow."
Avery opened his mouth and closed it again, making a thoughtful look, frowning slightly, tightening his lips, and rolling his eyes back and forth in his eye sockets.
It looks like that, but there is nothing in his eyes, and his face is still blank.
Regulus ignored him and moved his eyes to the side.
On the other side of the hall, Abros·Mulciber was whispering something to Dag·Rowle at a Corridor corner.
Mulciber family and Rowle family do the same type of work in the Death Eaters camp, with overlapping functions and similar ecological niches.
It is better to say that they are colleagues than competitors. Whoever takes more bites will lose one bite in the other's mouth. As for competition or cooperation, it depends on how Voldemort distributes it, but the position is somewhat crowded.
Abros is one size bigger than Dagur. The two of them stand together and occasionally nod and shake their heads when talking. On the surface, it looks like normal peer communication.
Hermes was leaning against the wall not far away, wearing a dark ceremonial robe, a straight face, and drooped eyelids, almost falling asleep.
Regulus's gaze paused for a while between Abros and old Rowle.
If Rowle family is taken over, someone will have to fill the dirty jobs around Voldemort, and Abros·Mulciber is a ready candidate.
By eliminating Rowle family, the vacated ecological niche will naturally be filled by Mulciber, which is equivalent to freeing up space for the friend's father.
He even thought about the after-sales service for Voldemort.
Of course, he couldn't decide who Voldemort would use.
Whether Abros can make progress depends on Voldemort's will and Abros's own ambition. It is not Black family's turn to make arrangements, but Black family can give Mulciber family a break in advance.
There was a conversation between Abros and Dumbledore, and after that there was a certain tacit understanding between the two. This was an old story extended from Hermes.
Therefore, Mulciber family's position is more complicated than that of most Death Eaters families. Abros works hard on Voldemort's side and maintains a hidden line with Dumbledore. This kind of person is of high value in the situation.
Ventilating in advance is always beneficial.
Mulciber and Rowle are on the same track. Rowle is gone. Mulciber is the direct beneficiary. Knowing the news in advance, Abros can adjust the layout before the contract takes effect.
The business connections that should be cut are cut in advance, the manpower that should be grabbed is contacted in advance, and the ecological niche that should be occupied is blocked in advance.
Moreover, Hermes is already his. Abros previously asked his son to practice Magic with him, which shows that his attitude towards Black family has changed from an ordinary ally in the same camp to an object worth betting on.
Black family took the initiative to ventilate Mulciber before taking action, which is a sign of trust and will also make Abros further fall in love with Black family.
After Rowle family falls, there will be a short power vacuum in Pure-blood Circle. Whoever can fill it as soon as possible will be able to occupy a more advantageous position in the subsequent pattern. If Mulciber family is informed in advance and operates properly, it can be seamlessly connected.
This kind of favor is quite valuable.
Of course, in the final analysis, it is all about Hermes's face. If Hermes is not his, what does Abros's life and death have to do with Black family?
Regulus waved to Hermes.
Hermes had already seen this place. He straightened up from the wall and walked slowly over. The expression on his face was the same as before, dull and without any emotion.
He walked up to Regulus and didn't ask anything, just stood there.
"If nothing happens tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, you and your father can come and sit down at Black family."
Hermes nodded with a straight face. He didn't ask why or what was going on, let alone why he was going. Regulus just went as he was told.
Avery tilted his head to the side, his expression even more confused.
First, his father is going to Black family, and now Hermes's father is going too?
He tried to make his expression look like he had figured it out, frowning more tightly and raising his chin slightly.
Hermes glanced at him, his expressionless face rarely moved, the corners of his mouth turned slightly downward, and his eyes were full of disgust.
Avery was about to explode when Hermes stopped looking at him. He turned to Regulus and said, "Do you want to bring a wand?"
"... as you wish."
Hermes nodded again and adjusted his face back to the wooden state.
The white peacock Silver Bell in the distance sounded again, the laughter of the guests came from the direction of the main hall, the warm golden light of Crystal Ball slowly rotated above the head, and the banquet continued.
The three of them stood in the corner of the hall, each eating his own food.
