Eve of the Storm
On July 1, 1974, in the dining room of 12 Grimmauld Place, the fireplace was burning, the flame was not high, and the green light danced on the silver candlestick.
Kreacher carried the silver tray and placed the last dish on the table, stewed Lamb Chop with mint sauce and roasted garlic.
There are already seven or eight dishes on the table, including cream truffle soup, Butter baked lobster, French onion soup, a whole plate of thinly sliced smoked salmon, and the rye bread in the bread basket is still steaming.
Black family's dinner is always sumptuous, and today is no different.
Walburga sat opposite Regulus, picking up food for him while eating. Lamb Chop handed him a piece, and another lobster. When the soup bowl was empty, she asked Kreacher to add more.
"The bread dipped in salmon sauce is delicious. You can try it."
Regulus I tore a piece of bread, dipped it in it, chewed it twice, it was really good.
Baruk was lying on the corner of the table, occupying a silver plate. Its six thin legs were folded neatly. The two front ones were holding a piece of Swedish Short-Snout neck meat cut into sections. They were grinding it quickly with their mouthparts, making their heads sink and sink.
It occasionally raised its amber eyes to look at Walburga, then at Orion, then back at Regulus, and then continued to bite.
Walburga asked Baruk to serve it. Of course she knew about the little thing Regulus raised, so she let it come without saying why.
Regulus glanced at it, and this spider now looked more like a serious family member than Sirius.
Orion was sitting opposite, cutting a piece of Steak. He occasionally looked up at the mother and son, his gray eyes reflected the firelight of the fireplace, and there was a very shallow arc at the corner of his mouth.
Regulus saw his father's expression out of the corner of his eye and was heartbroken.
His father was probably jealous that his mother took such good care of him.
Walburga clipped another piece of Lamb Chop to him.
Regulus knows in her heart that her mother is dealing with tonight in her own way.
She didn't ask about Rowle family, didn't mention the contract, and didn't touch anything related to the war. She picked up vegetables for her son, urged him to drink soup, and reminded him to dip his bread in sauce.
Regulus raised his eyes from the soup bowl and looked at her, suddenly thinking, is my mother nervous now?
It should be tense.
Old Rowle is not Bellatrix. No matter how crazy Bellatrix is, after all, he is just a witch who has just graduated a few years ago. Dark Arts has learned to be ruthless, but his foundation is shallow. Fighting relies on murderous intention and ruthlessness.
Old Rowle was different. He was an old wizard who had been with Voldemort for many years. All he did was torture, executions, Dark Arts experiments, and he gained a reputation by taking human lives.
Rowle family's manor is on Yorkshire Wasteland, playing at home, three days is enough for him to turn that place into a killing field.
Walburga It is impossible not to know this.
She is the mistress of Black family, not a noble lady who only drinks tea in Grimmauld Place. She knows the quality of Rowle family, knows the level of old Rowle, and knows what Family Vengeance Contract means.
A head-on confrontation with a Sacred Twenty-Eight is beyond the scope of a duel. It is a war between the entire family and another family. Rowle family will not sit still and wait for death. They will smash out hundreds of years of heritage, and her son will stand at the forefront of all impacts.
Regulus Stirred the soup with a spoon.
Walburga doesn't know what he really wants from doing this, Saiph, he doesn't know soul feeding, he doesn't know the cycle Flamel talks about.
She only knew the reason in the contract announcement, Dolphin·Rowle twice offended the blood and dignity of Black family.
For her, this reason was enough. If you offend Black, you deserve to die. Pure-bloods's logic has always been like this. It would be a shame not to fight back.
Regulus knows his mother's worries, and also knows that his mother knows that there must be something going on between his father and him that he has not told her, and that it is a big deal, so big that he dares to launch a war of genocide at this age.
So Walburga didn't stop or persuade him. He was just worried. He didn't say a word. He just picked up food for him, added soup, and asked if it was enough.
Baruk finished chewing the last piece of Dragon Meat, and there was only a little residue left on the plate. It lay on the foot of the table without moving, its eight eyes staring at the lobster meat in Walburga's hand, and the top two main eyes were shining brightly.
Walburga broke off a small piece, dipped it in the sauce dish and passed it over.
Baruk stretched out his chelicerae to take it, smelled it, and chewed it, opening and closing his chelicerae quickly.
The meal was eaten very slowly, the soup was finished, Lamb Chop had eaten most of it, the bread basket was at the bottom, and Baruk's small silver plate was taken away by Kreacher.
Walburga wiped the corners of his mouth with a napkin and looked at Regulus: "Another pudding?"
Regulus shook his head. "Mom, I'm full."
After the meal, Orion didn't reply to Study and sat at the dining table with a glass of after-dinner wine in his hand. Walburga didn't get up and sat next to him.
The family of three is still in the restaurant.
Regulus looked at Orion and asked casually, "Where is Sirius?"
Walburga's eyebrows narrowed slightly.
Orion glanced at him with a slightly surprised tone. "Before the announcement, I arranged for people to go near Potter family. In the evening, they found that Potter family's house could not be found."
Regulus raised his eyebrows. "Can't find it?"
"Potter family's position has disappeared." Orion picked up the wine glass and took a sip. He glanced sideways at Walburga, then turned back. "I could still see it before, but suddenly I could only see one. A hillside and a few old trees. After I came back, I couldn't even recall the specific location of Potter family. My memory became very fuzzy. I couldn't remember the direction or the distance. I only remembered that there was such a place and where it was. My mind was empty."
His tone was a little emotional. "Potter family is indeed capable."
Walburga heard Orion boasting about Potter family's ability. He lowered the corner of his mouth and continued disapprovingly, "Potter family's ancestors did this, and he has never lost his ability to hide it."
Regulus picked up Pumpkin Juice and raised the cup to his mother. Walburga glanced at him and smiled at him.
Potter family can hide to this extent, which is no worse than Fidelius Charm. The people sent by his father will not be ordinary people. Even the memory will be blurred after they come back. This is already directly manipulating the cognitive level.
He thought of Invisibility Cloak, which is probably where this ability came from.
Ignotus·Peverell's thing, the youngest of the three brothers, it is said that he escaped death wearing it until he was willing to take it off.
Deathly Hallows is a good thing. If you say you are not interested, you must be lying. But now that there are owners of these three, it is really difficult to get hold of them.
Elder Wand is in the hands of Dumbledore. It belonged to him after the duel in 1945, and he should always keep it with him.
Regulus thought about it and realized that he had seen the old man take action twice.
Once at the Werewolf camp, Dumbledore released Magic, and once at the Raven and Fiddle tavern next to Lake Windermere, Dumbledore summoned Patronus with a magic wand to send a message to Moody.
The one I used twice was not Elder Wand.
Find an opportunity to borrow it directly from the old man, without going around any corners, just say you want to play with it. As for whether to borrow it or not, wait until you borrow it.
The rest is Resurrection Stone. If we want to talk about functionality, we have to look at it.
Gaunt Ring, Voldemort took his Muggle father and grandparents and made it Horcruxes in the summer of 1943. The black stone was set in the ring.
Voldemort probably didn't recognize it until his death. It was Resurrection Stone.
Regardless of whether it's black or white, Voldemort is one of the most powerful wizards on the planet. Dark Arts has gone further on the road than anyone alive. Even if he is dead, compared with those who are no longer around, he will be in the front row.
He expanded the boundaries of Magic and took the road of Soul Splitting beyond the limits of human cognition. There are six Horcruxess, unprecedented, and there will be a seventh and eighth in the future.
In a sense, he did succeed. He found his own way to fight against death, and then got through it.
But such a person has been given Resurrection Stone for thirty years without recognizing it.
It's a bit sarcastic, but not stupid.
The entire Voldemort philosophy of Magic is based on one premise: death must be conquered.
Death does not need to be understood, he chooses to defeat it, transcend it, and completely eliminate it from his existence.
There is no place for death in his world, and there is no place for Resurrection Stone.
The entire meaning of Resurrection Stone is based on the fact that death has been recognized, that death is irreversible, and that the deceased has gone to another place, only then can this stone be used to speak to them.
Of course Voldemort would not admit it. Death is the end and failure, so to him that ring is just the bloodline of Gaunt, the coat of arms of Slytherin, and the proof of his noble bloodline.
He made the ring into Horcruxes, hid it in the ruins of Little Hangleton, and let it lie in the mud for decades.
The person who is farthest from death on this planet has the only thing that can talk to the dead and has never used it.
Thinking of this, Regulus smiled in his heart.
When resurrected, you can summon the image of the dead soul. If you turn the stone three times, the deceased will appear in the form of some kind of projection. You can see, speak, and interact. If you can get this stone, you can do many things.
But that's it, you can't touch that ring now. The curse of Voldemort is still on it. If it goes away, it will be a flop.
More to come later.
When Orion saw Regulus slipping away, he didn't rush him. He took an occasional sip from the wine glass and looked at his son's face, waiting.
After a while, Regulus raised his eyes from the rim of the cup.
Orion put down the glass and continued what he said before, "Narcissa is in the Malfoy Manor, Abraxas is still alive, Rowle family doesn't have the guts or the ability to touch her."
Regulus nodded.
Narcissa is indeed safe, as is Andromeda. She has been removed from the list and is not on Tapestry. She is a pure third party, and she is on France, so she is safe.
As for Bellatrix, he hopes Rowle family will fuck her, it will be fun.
"Your grandfather said hello."
Walburga answered, "Your uncle also delivered a letter."
Regulus shrugged his shoulders, he actually didn't care much about this.
Orion looked at Regulus: "Silas will follow you."
Regulus glanced at his father with some surprise, he knew this name.
Silas·Kro Fute, the man in black robes following his father.
There has been such a person since he was born. Every time Orion goes out to do really important things, Silas is right behind him.
His mother was an expelled branch of the previous generation of Black family. Arcturus III secretly convened a group of people in 1945. Silas is the only one of that group who has survived to this day. No one has asked where the others have gone.
He has a kind of loyalty to Black family that is difficult for outsiders to understand.
Regulus responded, "Okay."
Orion stood up and adjusted his robe. "Follow me, I have something for you."
Regulus stood up.
Walburga is still sitting, with the napkin in his hand folded again and again.
He walked up to her, put his hand on his mother's shoulder, and pressed it gently. "Mom, I'll be down in a moment."
Walburga raised his face to look at him and smiled gently, "Go ahead."
Baruk was lying in the fire in the fireplace, with his belly pressed against the coals and his eight legs spread out limply.
Hearing the movement, he raised the spider's head and Regulus waved towards it. Baruk ejected, landed on his shoulder, and skillfully found a position to lie down.
He followed Orion out of the restaurant.
