Appearance

Luoshen Star is a dark-red dwarf planet whose weak sunlight, frozen gases, and exposed terrain make its surface exceptionally hostile to unprotected humans. Its coloration comes from widespread deposits of reddish-brown tholin. 3 4

History

Landing and early survival

Li Qingsong selected Luoshen Star as a landing site for his clones despite its lethal cold, vacuum, and radiation. Without spacesuits, a human could survive on the surface for no more than a minute. 3

Ten clones made the initial landing and established themselves in a surveyed cave at the bottom of a gorge. The cave was approximately thirty meters deep, twenty meters wide, and five meters high, with most of its interior shielded by thick rock. 4 The first base relied on improvised equipment, including taped plastic-film spacesuits, battery heating, mining lamps, and salvaged Landing Spaceship components. 4 5

Because sunlight was inadequate and the Landing Spaceship’s fission fuel was limited, Li Qingsong developed a steam turbine system to generate electricity and provide waste heat for Base One. 5

Industrial development

Li Qingsong spent a decade expanding from the initial valley base into an industrial network spanning the planet. The program established power generation, metallurgy, chemical production, glass manufacturing, tractors, and new bases beyond the original settlement. 14

Luoshen Star’s low gravity made large-scale construction easier: a five-ton Landing Spaceship weighed only about 400 kilograms on its surface, while clones could move rocks and equipment that would have been far more difficult to handle on Earth. 4 18

Aerospace and military base

After achieving broad industrial capacity, Li Qingsong began developing aerospace technology. The first locally made flying vehicle rose more than ten meters after a successful engine breakthrough, and the Opening Heaven Type-1 later achieved orbital flight at 900 meters per second. 45 47

Luoshen Star became both a space-industrial center and a defensive stronghold. Its orbital facilities included a space laboratory, a large supply base with spacecraft berths and maintenance bays, telescopes, cargo operations, and a fleet of Mercury-class battleships. 51 56

When Li Qingsong discovered an industrialized civilization on nearby Adversary Star, he began producing battleships for defense. 52 He later used Luoshen Star’s industrial capacity to manufacture one million firearms and 350 billion specialized bullets, firing them from calculated positions across the surface toward Adversary Star. 61

Resource crisis and abandonment

As development intensified, local resources became increasingly inadequate. Adversary Star supplied Luoshen Star through twenty cargo launchers capable of sending a combined 500 million tons of cargo annually; the first container arrived after a year and relieved the immediate shortage. 78

Luoshen Star’s shipyards were reactivated to construct advanced Cargo Spaceships using Secondary Pressurization Thrusters. Components and fifty thrusters, each weighing more than 5,000 tons, were transported into orbit for assembly. 93

Eventually, the resources of both Luoshen Star and Adversary Star were nearly exhausted. 95 Li Qingsong constructed fifty Aerospace Carriers and assembled a departing fleet of fifty carriers and sixty Cargo Spaceships carrying roughly 450 million tons of cargo, industrial facilities, supplies, and clone bodies. 95 96

No clone bodies remained after the fleet departed. Li Qingsong ordered Luoshen Star’s destruction so that alien civilizations could not discover evidence of humanity’s former presence there. 96
