Facing the Beyonder Characteristic within arm's reach, Luther did his best to control his emotions. He took several deep breaths before finally calming down.
"Then what is the price?"
He looked at Arianna and asked, "Or rather, what kind of effort do I need to make to obtain these?"
As always, the Evernight Goddess would never grant him favors for nothing.
"Just as you did when you were in the Church: establish merits, then exchange them for rewards."
The Servant of Concealment replied, pulling back a palm to quickly wipe away the blood-red skull until it vanished without a trace, replacing it with a deep blue flower. "Very well... That is all I have to say. Luther Rondal, if you are interested in what I've shared and wish to return to the Church once more, you may ignite this Deep Sleep Flower to summon me."
After giving it some thought, Luther reached out and accepted the flower.
"I understand."
He said.
"Praise the Goddess."
Arianna withdrew her hand and prayed devoutly once more.
Luther did not praise the Goddess along with her. He merely watched as her figure was gradually erased, beginning with her feet covered in dust and scars, then her plain black robe with its visible patches, and finally the belt woven from bark...
"One more thing."
Just as only Arianna's head remained, she suddenly looked toward the vigilant Antiya and said, "Stop abusing your abilities. Your Anchor appears to be very unstable."
With those words, she vanished completely.
Anchor?
