A day later.

"Sizzle, sizzle."

Luther held a silver ritual dagger and carved an intricate pattern into his arm.

The pattern looped around itself, its beginning connected to its end. Blood continuously seeped from it, making it appear eerie and mysterious.

Upon closer inspection, the pattern seemed somewhat similar to the strange ring Ouroboros created when using his abilities.

Of course, Luther would not be foolish enough to summon the Angel of Fate again. This pattern came from another Snake of Mercury—the holy emblem of the Life School of Thought's chairman. He arranged candles on the altar, then placed his wounded arm between two of them, allowing the candlelight to illuminate the blood-stained holy emblem. Then he lowered his head and began murmuring an incantation.

That was right. He intended to perform the Mystical Pact Ritual once more and establish contact with the chairman of the Life School of Thought.

"There are two matters I wish to discuss with you."

Luther directly added his questions to the prayer. "First, the Foolish Snake you mentioned has come looking for me. Second, I want to know whether you know the Potion formula for Sequence 3 of my Pathway..."

So far, he had obtained clues regarding the Trinity Templar through two channels: Medici's deal and the Church of Evernight's recruitment. However, both channels came with additional conditions. Either Medici had to be given a chance at resurrection, or Luther had to return to the Church of Evernight.

Leaving Medici's matter aside for now, returning to the Church of Evernight had both advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage was that he would gain an official identity, have access to more resources, and gain a powerful backer. He would no longer have to worry about Angels from the Aurora Order suddenly appearing before him again. The
