Background / History

The Xiao Clan was once the foremost of the Eight Great Imperial Clans. At its height, it possessed seventy-three Dou Saints, including five peak Eight-star Dou Saints, and maintained an extensive collection of treasures and Dou Techniques. Its ancestral heritage came from Emperor Xiao, whose actions were tied to the continent's eventual loss of Source Qi. 36 2206

Its decline began when the clan's Dou Di bloodline depleted. The resulting gap in younger-generation experts left the clan unable to replace its aging Saint-level members. Xiao Xuan and the clan's Dou Saints attempted to extract and consolidate the clan's bloodline to create a new Dou God; the attempt reached Half-God level but failed, severely injuring Xiao Xuan and weakening the clan's experts. The Hun Clan subsequently launched a full-scale attack, leading to the clan's destruction or dispersal. 30 2206

Before the catastrophe fully consumed the clan, Xiao Xuan ordered every branch to send descendants into hiding under new identities. Their locations and adopted surnames were compartmentalized, even from the Clan Leader, to preserve the bloodline if the Xiao Realm fell. The Northwest Xiao Family was among these hidden lines. 30 37

The clan retained secret influence through forces established in the Central Continent, including Tianque, the Great Brightness Realm, Sound Valley, and the Eight Desolations Divine Hall. The latter was led by Xiao Li, a descendant of Xiao Xuan. 30 107

After his return, Xiao Xuan brought the Samsara Ancient Tree to the Xiao Realm and designated it the clan's supreme treasure. He proposed reincarnating aging elders into the clan's later generations, allowing them to preserve their experience until a future Dou Emperor restored the bloodline. 36 39

The clan later returned openly to the Dou Qi Continent under Xiao Wen/Wu Xuantian. Its restoration ceremony re-established the Xiao Clan and announced the Xiao Alliance, gathering its surviving members and allied organizations without exposing the location of the new Xiao Realm. 2209

Bloodline

The Xiao Clan's Dou Di bloodline is its defining inheritance. When dormant or depleted, descendants suffer reduced talent and the clan struggles to produce new Saint-level experts. 30 70

Bloodline decline and dispersal

As the Dou Di bloodline weakened and annihilation loomed, Xiao Xuan ordered branch descendants scattered throughout the continent under concealed identities. This preserved lines that later formed the Northwest Xiao Family and other hidden branches. 30 37

Reincarnation plan

Xiao Xuan returned after centuries away, introduced the Samsara Ancient Tree, and began arranging the reincarnation of elders into later Xiao Clan generations. The plan aimed to preserve the clan's experience until Source Qi returned and another Dou Emperor appeared. 36 39
