Background / History
Creation and early survival
Nuwa creates and names the Human Race, granting its members souls, intelligence, and the Dao charm of the Innate Dao Body 1949. Despite this origin, the first humans are vulnerable: they lack inherited cultivation methods, suffer losses to weather and beasts, and must survive through hunting and gathering 1950 1951.
Suiren, Youchao, and Ziyi become the foundational civilizers of humanity. Suiren creates fire by drilling wood, Youchao establishes houses, and Ziyi makes clothing from animal hides; each act earns heavenly merit and improves human survival 1951 2363.
Cultivation and self-reliance
The Human Race develops martial cultivation to gain the means to defend itself. Chu establishes a complete martial arts system and inscribes it on a stone stele, causing martial knowledge to enter human souls and drawing heavenly merit 560. Xuantian is also credited with creating and spreading the martial path, later becoming known as the Martial Ancestor 1647 1871.
Martial cultivation greatly extends human lifespans and contributes to explosive population growth. Xuantian responds by instituting marriage rites, surnames, clan lineages, family divisions, and a layered system of governance under nine major tribes 1654.
Sovereigns and cultural development
The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors guide humanity from scattered tribes toward a unified civilization.
- Fuxi introduces fishing, domestication, city-building, social duties, marriage rules, and the Eight Trigrams for divination 1960 1961.
- Shennong discovers and spreads the Five Grains—rice, millet, broomcorn millet, wheat, and beans—resolving humanity’s food crisis; he also compiles medical teachings to address disease and disaster 1961 1969.
- Xuanyuan pushes to abolish tribal divisions, establish territorial administration, and unify the Human Race under a common political order 1967.
- Cangjie creates human writing, allowing humans to preserve knowledge in a script suited to the Human Dao rather than relying on Demon Script 1966 1967.
Rise to dominance
Humanity survives repeated near-extermination campaigns by the Demon Race and threats from the Witch Race. Human martial artists become known for fighting above their cultivation level, using Cave Heavens and diverse divine abilities against demon forces 2365.
After prolonged development, the Human Race becomes the strongest race in Hong Huang. Its early rulers and ancestors withdraw from direct rule, allowing kingdoms, sects, academies, and families to develop independently while the Human Ancestral Land remains the race’s ultimate foundation 1691 1699 1734.
In the Primal Universe era, the Human Race gains the Duandong River Inheritance, defeats or captures the Universe Strongest of rival peak races, occupies vast new territories, and becomes the dominant force of the Primal Universe 2290 2291 2294.
Physiology and Potential
Innate Dao Body
Humans are born with an Innate Dao Body and exceptional developmental potential.
- Their bodies embody the Three Talents of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity, alongside Yin-Yang duality, the Five Elements, meridians, acupoints, and apertures 1950.
- Humans are described as “miniature worlds,” with the potential to follow countless paths of cultivation and transformation 1950 1989.
- Unlike races born with inherited powers, early humans require cultivation, invention, and collective effort to survive 1951 2363.
Martial Dao
The Martial Dao is humanity’s principal self-defense system and a major source of its rise.
- The path includes body tempering, meridian opening, acupoint cultivation, Golden Core formation, and higher realms that allow martial artists to contend with immortals 560.
- Acupoint Realm cultivators may refine beast essence blood, assume beast-like forms, and increase their combat power enough to fight immortals 560.
- Human martial artists can cultivate varied divine abilities; their Cave Heavens may devour enemies in battle 2365.
- Martial Ancestors can form a Great Dao domain and unite their true spirits with the Great Dao Heavenly Pillar, becoming deathless while it endures 1647.
Adaptability and civilization
Humanity repeatedly overcomes existential problems through collective innovation.
- Fire, clothing, and housing allow early humans to endure their environment 1951 2363.
- Agriculture, fishing, domestication, and urban settlement reduce dependence on dangerous hunting 1960 1961.
- Writing preserves Dao arts, knowledge, and laws for future generations 1675 1966.
- Human academies train successive generations of cultivators; the ten great academies and Ancestral City form the backbone of later human development 1991.
