Rhaegar's interest was piqued.

Rhaenyra smiled. "That's right. They're a family skilled in seafaring, and they've been close allies of our family for generations."

"I heard Lord Sea Snake is no pushover. He gives Father a lot of trouble."

Rhaegar spoke pointedly.

"It's all because of problems with inheritance from the previous generation. One of the reasons for our visit is to reconcile with House Velaryon."

Rhaegar asked in confusion, "House Velaryon isn't as powerful as House Targaryen. Why would they be the ones to seek reconciliation?"

Rhaenyra pinched his nose, sounding displeased.

She was only an heir without any real power. How would she know what concerns their father had?

The sun hung high in the sky.

The guards rowed two small boats, ferrying the party ashore.

The voyage was over. Viserys breathed a sigh of relief, enjoying the reassuring feel of the soft sand beneath his feet.

"Your Grace, the castle has prepared a lavish feast with plenty of wine."

The Acting Lord of Dragonstone had been waiting with his attendants for some time. He bowed respectfully and greeted them.

He beckoned his wife and children forward, trying to mend the rift from the previous night with kind words and smiles.
