Background / History
Wang Ping arrived in the cultivation world after transmigrating from Earth. He possessed a unique Progress Bar ability: whenever he studied a skill, a mental panel displayed its requirements, projected results, and current progress. His earliest recorded practice was the basic Evergreen Cultivation Technique under Daoist Yucheng at Thousand Wood Temple. 1
Under Yucheng's instruction, Wang Ping spent five years clearing Thousand Wood Mountain's summit and nurturing a scholar-tree sapling with his spiritual energy. He eventually moved into a courtyard beside the tree, separating himself from mortal-world troubles. 18
He became a direct disciple of Daoist Yucheng and developed into a talisman specialist. After three months of seclusion, he perfected the Spirit Talisman; its successful creation precipitated his transcendence into the immortal realm. 72 73
As his cultivation rose, Wang Ping expanded Thousand Wood Temple's influence through disciples, puppets, talismans, formations, and political alliances. He accepted disciples including Liu Shuang, Hu Qianqian, Shen Xiaozhu, Xia Weny, and Prince Wen Yi, while repeatedly intervening in conflicts involving the Imperial Court, regional sects, and the Yao Race. 243 281 600 721
After reaching the Fourth and Fifth Realms, he became a major force in the cultivation world. He established a Divine Kingdom, received the title True Monarch Changqing, and later ascended as Lord of the Heavenly Court. 661 935 1157
Appearance
Wang Ping is commonly seen in Daoist robes, often accompanied by Yulian. His mortal-realm iconography depicts both a composed Daoist form and a far more fearsome divine aspect. 557 1137
- Wears a blue narrow-sleeved Daoist robe during high-level cultivation and travel. 678 1132 1137
- Is frequently depicted with Yulian coiled around his shoulder or arm. 557 1137

- Can transform his body into a colossal locust tree. 904
- A Zhonghui County temple portrays him in a purple robe with a whisk and seven-colored light, as well as a green-faced, fanged deity surrounded by puppets and flying swords. 557
Personality
Wang Ping is methodical, cautious, and highly strategic. He favors preparations that preserve escape routes, conceal his involvement, or allow him to act through puppets rather than expose himself directly. 318 468 763 1036
He is protective of his disciples and associates, providing resources, cultivation guidance, and direct intervention when necessary. His concern is especially evident in his treatment of Liu Shuang, Shen Xiaozhu, and those he considers part of his lineage. 72 243 613 977
Despite his growing detachment and ability to view lives through the framework of rules, Wang Ping retains sympathy for the weak and frequently reflects on the effect that power, values, and human desire have on cultivators. 364 739 742 1129
