History
Demon Court era
The Heavenly Court was newly established under Heavenly Emperor Dijun and Donghuang Taiyi. Its first major act was to invite the Three Pure Ones to a Heavenly Court Ceremony; the Saints declined personally but sent Lin Zhu, Guang Chengzi, and Xuan Du as representatives. 17
Its early court was centered on the South Heaven Gate and Lingxiao Hall. Dijun used the ceremony to demonstrate demon-race strength, unveil the Zhou Tian Star Dou Great Array, distribute resources, and recruit powerful cultivators into the court. 22 23
Dijun later hosted his Heavenly Marriage in Lingxiao Hall, an event attended by the Six Saints and major Primordial powers. The marriage received a Merit Golden Cloud from the Heavenly Dao. 40 41
During the conflict over the Witch Slaughtering Sword, the Heavenly Court was forced to halt its refinement after Lin Zhu and the Kunlun disciples intervened on behalf of the Human Race. 84
The Witch–Demon War ultimately destroyed the Heavenly Court after Kunpeng stole the Hetu Luoshu, causing the Zhou Tian Star Dou Great Array to collapse. Dao Ancestor Hongjun ended the war and restored the shattered court with the Creation Jade Disc. 96
Haotian's administration
Following the calamity, Dao Ancestor Hongjun declared that the Witch and Demon Races were no longer fit to rule heaven and earth. Haotian was appointed to oversee the Heavenly Court and later ascended as Heavenly Emperor, receiving the court's Fortune. 100 102
Haotian rebuilt the court's influence by recruiting sect disciples and conferring nominal Divine Positions. Lin Zhu became the Azure Sky Great Emperor; Guang Chengzi became the Peaceful Emperor Lord; and Xuan Du became the Wonderful Joy Great Emperor. Lin Zhu's title granted him the privilege not to bow before the Heavenly Emperor and the right to refuse summons or commands. 126 127 130
The court's role expanded further through the Investiture of the Gods, which created a ranked system of Divine Positions for experts serving within its order. 143
