Background / History

Li Xuan survived Pangu's terrifying axe strike by fleeing rather than confronting it. The encounter cemented his instinct to avoid unnecessary danger. His Choice System rewarded this survival with the Innate Spiritual Root Gourd Vine and the Thirty-Six-Petaled Primordial Creation Green Lotus, upon which he cultivated for 100,000 years. 2

At Mount Taixuan, Li Xuan accumulated strength through cultivation, system choices, spiritual food, formations, and treasures. After obtaining Qiongqi's corpse, he eventually shared its flesh with nearby spiritual creatures rather than keeping it all for himself. The creatures began revering him, while Bright Rabbit, Little Blue, and Little Purple later became his disciples. 6 7 14

Li Xuan initially explored the outside world through clones, preferring to preserve his true body. One clone witnessed the Dragon-Phoenix Calamity, met Willow Daoist, and was ultimately killed amid the struggle for five strands of Heavenly Dao Primordial Violet Qi. The Violet Qi later returned to Li Xuan's true body. 14 26 30

Following Hongjun's lectures, Li Xuan became Hongjun's outer sect personal disciple and received the Immortal-Severing Sword. He continued to cultivate independently while maintaining Mount Taixuan as a refuge for his disciples and adopted children. 61

Li Xuan subdued three Ancestor Witches through an illusion of Pangu's axe, then developed a relationship with Houtu. He revealed that his Incarnation Outside the Body had accompanied her under another identity and later made a home with her at Peacock Ridge. 72 73 74 77

During his time among the Human Race, Li Xuan used the Black Dog identity to conceal his status. He supported Youchao Shi's efforts to improve human housing, learned the Great Dao of Tai Chi from him, and eventually stopped hiding his strength after easily handling a True Immortal demon beast. 110 115 125 126

Li Xuan is intensely cautious and survival-oriented. Even when angered by threats to his disciples, he repeatedly chooses clones, formations, disguises, or retreat over personally entering a dangerous battlefield. 15 20 26

He is resourceful, deceptive when necessary, and highly aware of the value of information. He bluffed Prime Kirin into abandoning Qiongqi's corpse, lured Golden Dragon into Mount Taixuan's formation, and frequently hid his cultivation beneath weaker identities. 6 20 41 125

Despite his self-preserving nature, Li Xuan is protective and generous toward those he considers his own.
