He had originally planned to see what kind of person Uchiha Kazuto was, but only if he could do so without being discovered. Unfortunately, he hadn't even caught a glimpse of Uchiha Kazuto before he was somehow exposed.
Utterly baffled, Orochimaru was a top-tier ninja and had complete confidence in his ability to disguise himself. So how had he been found out?
The next moment, Orochimaru's figure turned into smoke and vanished.
Outside Konoha, Orochimaru opened his eyes and looked toward the village in the distance. Then he moved farther away and sent several Shadow Clones into Konoha. Every single one of them was discovered.
It was impossible to infiltrate Konoha now. Any outsider who harbored hatred toward Konoha, especially Uchiha Kazuto, was immediately detected by the Military Police Force.
Konoha wasn't the same village it had once been. Orochimaru realized this with absolute clarity.
His plan to assassinate Uchiha Kazuto had ended before he could even get started. The only way was to take on all of Konoha by himself, force his way to Uchiha Kazuto, and then get killed by him.
"Someone's trying to break in..."
At the Hokage's Office, Uchiha Kazuto nodded. It was probably another village's vermin trying to probe Konoha for information.
Unfortunately, Konoha wasn't the village it had once been. With the Intelligence and Military Police Force protecting it, those vermin had no chance of learning anything.
"Waaah..."
Jiraiya raced toward Konoha.
Suddenly, he stopped and warily eyed the figure ahead.
"I wondered who it was. So it's you, Jiraiya. Why are you crying? Did you hear that our teacher died?"
Orochimaru emerged from the distance. Seeing Jiraiya crying but still looking wary, he felt puzzled. He understood why Jiraiya was crying, but not why he was still crying after seeing him.
