After passing the assessment, Su Yu and the others remained nearby.
Su Yu looked toward the crowd behind them, and a young girl in black skintight clothing caught his eye.
She looked no more than eleven or twelve, with long black hair hanging loose over her shoulders.
Her skin was fair, and she possessed an exceptionally curvaceous, voluptuous figure utterly mismatched with her age.
Yet her expression was cold, cold from the depths of her heart—a pure, untainted coldness.
Her black eyes did not seem to contain the slightest trace of life, clashing somewhat with her originally beautiful face.
Her limbs were well-proportioned and slender, and she radiated a deathly chill that was difficult for others to adapt to.
Looking at the young girl's bearing, Su Yu could not help feeling Doubts.
Was this really superior genetics?
Was this the bearing an eleven-year-old girl should have?
"Zhu Qing, bone age nearly twelve. Martial Soul: Hell Spirit Cat. Another one of the Little Monsters!"
"You have also passed our test and may proceed to the next assessment!"
Su Yu clearly saw Dai Mubai's body tremble.
It seemed he had not expected his little fiancée to come all the way here from the Star Luo Empire.
Almost none of the remaining students passed the assessment. For now, only Su Yu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Qing had passed the first test.
What made Su Yu curious, however, was that the assessment was nearly over, yet Tang San had still not appeared!
Just as Li Yusong thought no one else was coming, a voice rang out from nearby:
"Please wait! We want to take the test too!"
A plainly dressed boy with only average looks ran over from the distance.
Behind him was a plainly dressed but breathtakingly beautiful girl!
Her long black hair was braided into a neat scorpion braid, its tip already hanging below her calves.
She was slightly taller than the boy. She wore a Pink Undergarment that tightly wrapped her figure, which had already begun to develop.
Her curved brows seemed naturally shaped, and her large, watery eyes complemented her slightly round, rosy little face.
Not only was she beautiful, she also had an adorable, lively air about her. The two rabbit-ear ornaments atop her head added an extra touch of cuteness.
Tang San stopped before Li Yusong, panting heavily. Sweat still hung at his temples, but his eyes were astonishingly bright.
"Teacher, we want to take the test too!"
Li Yusong raised his brows at Xiao Wu behind him, signaling Tang San to extend his hand first.
The instant his fingertips touched Tang San's wrist, he frowned—the boy's bones felt abnormally compact.
There was none of the looseness typical of children his age. Instead, they felt as though they had been repeatedly tempered by some sort of power.
"What is your name?"
"Tang San!"
"Do you practice Soul Skills with your hands?"
Li Yusong pressed harder with his fingertips and felt the fine calluses between Tang San's finger bones, marks left by years of honing.
"Yes!"
"Show me your calves."
Tang San efficiently rolled up his pant legs. His calves were evenly toned, though several faint scars could be seen.
Li Yusong squeezed his shinbone, then suddenly looked up at Flender, his gaze probing.
Flender stood with his arms folded against the doorframe, a slight smile curling his lips.
"Continue the test."
"Release your Martial Soul."
Tang San turned his palm over, and pale-blue Blue Silver Grass silently unfurled. Two Yellow Soul Rings slowly revolved around him.
Li Yusong stared at the seemingly fragile Blue Silver Grass, then at the resilience in Tang San's eyes.
"What is your Soul Power Level?"
"Level 29!"
"Your Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass..." Li Yusong stroked his chin and suddenly laughed.
"This is Shrek Academy. What we want are the 'monsters' in other people's eyes."
"Being able to cultivate Blue Silver Grass so quickly makes you a qualified Little Monster."
He jerked his chin toward the inner grounds. "Go in. Next student."
"Thank you, Teacher!"
Tang San walked to one side.
Xiao Wu walked Bouncing Around to Li Yusong. As she extended her hand, she did not forget to wink at Tang San beside her.
Her little hand was fair and slender. When she turned her palm upward, pale pink Soul Power suddenly lit up.
A fuzzy rabbit phantom emerged behind her. Its long ears drooped down, while its ruby-like eyes gleamed with cleverness.
"Soft Bone Rabbit?" Li Yusong squeezed her wrist, then froze the moment his fingertips touched it.
"Bone age twelve. Soul Power... Level 29?"
He checked again, staring at the Yellow Soul Ring behind Xiao Wu, unable to stop himself from clicking his tongue in amazement.
Though this Young Girl's Martial Soul was not some top-tier Martial Soul, her Soul Power Level was still among the best of her peers.
Especially that lively spirit of hers—she truly resembled an untamed little rabbit. She could also be considered one of the Little Monsters.
"Not bad, not bad."
Li Yusong rarely showed such a kindly smile. "Little girl, your Martial Soul has plenty of spirit, just like you."
Xiao Wu tilted her head and swayed the rabbit-tail phantom behind her.
"Then do I count as a monster?"
"You do! Of course you do!" Li Yusong laughed at her and pointed toward the testing grounds.
"Go on in. The next assessment is waiting for you."
"Thank you, Teacher!"
Xiao Wu answered crisply, then turned and ran toward Tang San. As she passed by, she did not forget to turn back and make a face at Li Yusong, making him shake his head helplessly.
After waiting a while longer, with no one else signing up, Li Yusong looked toward Flender.
"Alright. You have passed the first assessment. Your talents all qualify you as Little Monsters."
"According to the academy's rules, anyone whose Soul Power Level exceeds twenty-five may directly participate in the final assessment. Let's go!"
Flender led the new students further inside!
They arrived at the final testing grounds, where Zhao Wuji sat in a chair and watched them expressionlessly.
Flender walked over and whispered a few words into Zhao Wuji's ear.
Before long, Zhao Wuji walked over to them.
"Little Monsters, hello. I am a Teacher at Shrek Academy. My name is Zhao Wuji."
"Your final assessment is to hold out against me for the time it takes one incense stick to burn."
"You now have one incense stick's worth of time to arrange your tactics. The assessment will begin after that!"
"Little Bai, tell our new students about my strength."
With that, Zhao Wuji stuck a lit incense stick into a nearby tree trunk, then walked aside and sat down.
Dai Mubai walked forward helplessly and addressed them.
"Normally, your opponent for this assessment would be me. You only need to last one incense stick's worth of time under my hands."
"I don't know what Dean Flender said to Teacher Zhao, but your examiner is now Teacher Zhao."
"I can't help you this time either. I never expected Teacher Zhao to take action personally."
Xiao Wu looked at the solemn-faced Dai Mubai and laughed.
"This Teacher Zhao wouldn't happen to be a Soul Emperor-level powerhouse like the Teacher at the entrance, would he?"
Dai Mubai shook his head. "No."
