"I am Lin Changqing, a cultivator from Kunlun Mountain. May I ask your name, fellow cultivator?"
Lin Changqing looked at Ao Ying and smiled faintly.
His warm smile helped Ao Ying calm down. She wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and gave Lin Changqing a slight bow.
"So you're a cultivator from Kunlun Mountain! Then you must be a disciple of a Sage, right?"
"No wonder you could defeat a Golden Immortal while only being a Mystic Immortal. A Sage's disciple really is amazing!"
Ao Ying looked at Lin Changqing and exclaimed, her eyes filled with delight.
"Oh, right, my name is Ao Ying. I'm from the East Sea Dragon Palace, and my father is Ao Guang."
Ao Guang. Lin Changqing's expression shifted slightly.
After the ancient Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation, few of the ancient dragons had survived.
True dragons were rarer still, and Ao Guang was one of the great powers among them.
These dragon powerhouses were divided into four branches. Each guarded one of the four seas and established its own dragon clan.
Ao Guang was the Dragon King of the East Sea.
And the title of Dragon King of the East Sea had remained with Ao Guang ever since, through the later Lich Tribulation, the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, and finally the Journey to the West Great Tribulation.
He had taken part in all three tribulations. During the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, the Third Prince, Ao Bing, had filled the tribulation; during the Journey to the West Great Tribulation, Ao Guang had made it through thanks to the Sea Calming Divine Needle left behind by the human Yu the Great when he tamed the floods.
Of course, this was only what Lin Changqing knew. The future was still uncertain.
In that case, the Azure Dragon Ao Ying before him was actually the little dragon girl, princess of the East Sea Dragon Clan.
No wonder she had Azure Dragon blood and was a nine-pattern true dragon.
Of course, that bloodline was no longer enough to astonish Lin Changqing.
The dragons' era had already passed. Even Ao Guang was merely a powerhouse of somewhat greater stature in the Primordial World. He could hardly be called an overlord, even in the East Sea.
"So you're the princess of the East Sea Dragon Clan. You're only at the Golden Immortal realm, yet the old Dragon King was willing to let you out to gain experience."
Lin Changqing smiled, somewhat curious.
After the Dragon-Phoenix Tribulation, the three clans had shouldered boundless karmic obstacles. Under that burden, the dragon clan had found it difficult to bear offspring.
Ao Guang had finally had a daughter, yet he had actually been willing to let her out?
"Oh, when I left, I was still a Mystic Immortal. I came out three thousand years ago. Father said my opportunity to break through lay in the Primordial World, so he let me go."
"But I never expected that right after I broke through, I'd run into that damned Golden Condor. If you hadn't been there, fellow cultivator, I would have died!"
As she spoke, Ao Ying shot an angry glance at the Golden Condor's corpse.
Lin Changqing glanced at it too. The body of a mid-stage Golden Immortal demon was a great tonic.
His Divine Demon Power was nearly depleted, and Ao Ying was badly wounded as well.
A battle had just taken place here. He had no idea whether anyone had noticed.
They needed to leave as soon as possible.
"Fellow cultivator, we shouldn't stay here. Let's leave first."
Lin Changqing looked at Ao Ying seriously, and she nodded.
But Ao Ying had just forcibly used a Dragon Clan Secret Technique and was badly injured. Her face was pale, and she had no strength to leave on her own.
In the end, Lin Changqing lifted the Golden Condor's body with one hand, summoned the wings on his back, grabbed Ao Ying as well, and sped away into the distance.
The Divine Demon Wings were one of the powerful abilities of the image of the Divine Demon. They were an ultimate speed technique of the world. Though using them consumed a great deal of energy, in an instant he had traveled tens of thousands of miles.
In just a short while, Lin Changqing had used up a tenth of the energy he'd recovered, yet he had flown millions of miles.
Their earlier battle had shaken heaven and earth, but it had ultimately been a clash between Golden Immortals, and it had ended quickly. Only an area of a million miles had been affected.
Now, millions of miles away, Lin Changqing descended rapidly toward the ground and landed beneath a waterfall in a mountain ravine, surrounded by layer upon layer of mountains.
Looking at the lake before him, Lin Changqing waved his hand. A beam of divine light became a barrier, enveloping the entire mountain.
In an instant, clouds and mist rose among the surrounding peaks, concealing everything there.
Once he had finished setting things up, Lin Changqing casually tossed down the Golden Condor's body. The thousand-zhang corpse shook the earth around them as it landed.
Ao Ying touched down as well, transformed into a thousand-zhang dragon, and headed toward the lake.
The rivers and mountains of the Primordial World were all astonishingly vast.
The highest peaks on Earth, nearly ten thousand meters tall, would be no more than small hills here. The mountain where Lin Changqing had stopped was tens of thousands of zhang high.
The lake was three or four thousand zhang across, yet even that was a little small for Ao Ying to swim in.
The spiritual energy here was fairly abundant. Ao Ying sank straight to the bottom of the lake to recover, while Lin Changqing sat cross-legged and began to recover too.
Time slipped by. When Lin Changqing opened his eyes, the sun was setting in the west, and golden light spilled across the land.
He glanced at Ao Ying, who was still recovering, then set about preparing the Golden Condor's body.
This was excellent meat, perfect for replenishing his vitality and even for cultivating such a powerful technique as the Divine Demon Prison Suppression Art.
But Lin Changqing didn't like eating meat raw. Even if cooking it cost him some of its vital energy, he was still going to prepare it properly.
After a bit of work, two enormous wings were set up on a rack beside the lake.
Flames roared beneath them, and the mid-stage Golden Immortal's flesh soon turned crisp and golden.
Just then, waves surged across the lake. An Azure Dragon leaped out, transformed into a woman in blue, and slowly landed beside Lin Changqing.
"Changqing, you really roasted the Golden Condor!"
Ao Ying stared at the enormous wings before her in disbelief, then asked in delight.
She had thought Lin Changqing had only said that to provoke the Golden Condor, but now he had actually roasted it.
Even Ao Ying had to say something to Lin Changqing at this point.
She was a dragon, after all, and wasn't used to eating cooked food.
But the aroma of those enormous wings made her eyes light up.
"Hahaha!"
"Don't be shy, fellow cultivator Ao Ying. Come and have some."
Lin Changqing smiled too.
The flesh of a Golden Immortal demon was a great tonic, and a rare treasure for cultivating the Divine Demon Prison Suppression Art.
But apart from eating it, he couldn't think of any way to absorb the flesh. Since they had to eat it anyway, they might as well make it taste good.
The two sat beside the hundred-zhang wings and began eating heartily.
Much later, all that remained of the Golden Condor's body was its skeleton.
Lin Changqing sat cross-legged, his blood and qi surging within him. Inside his three thousand six hundred apertures, the images of the Divine Demon had all grown a little more solid.
The flesh of a mid-stage Golden Immortal really was good stuff!
This time, Lin Changqing's Divine Demon Power had increased by about a tenth.
If he could get another seven or eight Golden Condor Demon Kings, he'd be able to break through, right?
But that was just wishful thinking. He'd only encountered one Golden Condor in a thousand years. There wouldn't be many chances to find seven or eight more.
He composed himself and slowly opened his eyes. Lin Changqing looked at Ao Ying, who was watching him with her chin propped on her hand, and smiled faintly.
She immediately flustered and turned her head away.
"Fellow cultivator Ao Ying, is there something on my face?"
Lin Changqing smiled as he asked her.
"No, no. I was just wondering: you seem to be human, fellow cultivator Changqing, but everyone in the Primordial World knows how frail humans are. How were you able to defeat a mid-stage Golden Immortal Golden Condor while only being a Mystic Immortal?"
Ao Ying asked Lin Changqing curiously, her eyes filled with wonder.
"And you're a cultivator from Kunlun Mountain, so you must be a Sage's disciple. With your strength, you must be a direct disciple, right?"
Ao Ying asked curiously. Lin Changqing didn't deny it.
When traveling through the Primordial World, having powerful backing could make others think twice.
"That's right. I am the senior-most direct disciple of Sage Tongtian!"
