Ao Ying is the daughter of Ao Guang, the East Sea Dragon King, and a princess of the East Sea Dragon Palace. Her True Dragon bloodline is exceptionally rare: she spent three hundred thousand years within her dragon egg, was born a True Immortal, and reached Mystic Immortal within ten thousand years of cultivation 36 66.

Following her father's instruction that her breakthrough opportunity lay in the Primordial World, Ao Ying left the East Sea to train. After three thousand years, she attained Golden Immortal status, only to be severely wounded by the Golden Condor shortly afterward 36.

She first encountered Lin Changqing while he battled the Golden Condor. Initially regarding humans as weak, she was stunned by his ability to fight and kill a mid-stage Golden Immortal while only a Mystic Immortal himself. She is deeply grateful toward those who protect her and openly admires Lin Changqing's strength, kindness, and willingness to help the Dragon Clan. Her trust in him develops from caution after learning he is a Saint's disciple into a close friendship forged through repeated life-and-death experiences 36 57.

Return to the East Sea

After receiving the Quasi-Saint Dragon Pearl, Ao Ying returns with Lin Changqing to the East Sea Dragon Palace. She uses her rank and bloodline to defend him from Dragon Palace guards, then reunites with Ao Guang and consolidates her enhanced bloodline in seclusion 60 61 62 67.

East Sea Dragon Clan Crisis

Ao Ying fights the Black Flood Dragon Demon King while defending the East Sea Dragon Clan. Although she damages him with the Quasi-Saint Dragon Pearl, the backlash nearly destroys her body; Lin Changqing arrives before she can self-destruct the pearl 174 175.
