Background & History

Duobao had followed Sect Master Tongtian since before Tongtian became leader of the Sect of Interception. As Tongtian's first and chief disciple, he regularly attended his master's sermons for several eons and was entrusted with exceptional authority, including the occasional use of the Immortal Slaying Four Swords 247 248.

At Golden Ao Island, he administered sect affairs in Tongtian's stead. He presided over the public contest between Zhao Gongming and the newly elevated Lin Chuan, maintained a neutral manner, and later suppressed unrest surrounding Chang'er Dingguang Immortal 7 17 22.

Lin Chuan's sudden elevation and extraordinary cultivation initially left Duobao doubtful and resentful. Seeing Zhao Gongming cultivate the Eight-Nine Profound Art—taught by Lin Chuan—nearly shattered Duobao's Dao Heart, as he struggled with the disparity in opportunities and Lin Chuan's casual conduct 30.
