Burial Demon Valley
Ning Wuque lay on the ground, his clothes in tatters and his body covered in bloody gashes.
White bone showed faintly through his left shoulder. There was a fist-sized bloody hole below his abdomen, and his right foot was slick with blood. White bone showed through his calf, which bore three gruesome claw marks.
He had fought his way out of the encirclement at the cost of his life, but Yang Zhenzhen had left him grievously wounded. To be honest, he felt worse than if he were dead.
Yang Zhenzhen only had to take a little risk and enter Burial Demon Valley for Ning Wuque to be doomed. But he didn't dare venture deep into the valley either; he was hiding near its entrance.
Yang Zhenzhen hadn't entered Burial Demon Valley, though, because Ning Wuque wasn't worth the risk. That was right—he wasn't worth it. This hurt even more than killing him would have.
Since they weren't far away, Yang Zhenzhen hadn't bothered to block out the sound, and he had heard the entire conversation.
Last time, the Azure Moon Immortal Couple had let Ning Wuque escape because they were worried about their own safety. This time, Yang Guobin had stopped Yang Zhenzhen from entering Burial Demon Valley because he felt Ning Wuque wasn't worth the risk. The first time, Ning Wuque had been lucky; this time, he had been looked down upon—or, to put it another way, it was a display of the Yang Family's utter confidence.
Yang Guobin's words were like knives, stabbing viciously into Ning Wuque.
"Yang Zhenzhen! Yang Family, I'll remember this grudge. One day, I'll repay it a hundredfold," Ning Wuque said through clenched teeth, his expression resolute.
