Background

Huo Yu Hao was raised in the White Tiger Duke's Mansion, where he endured bullying and hardship. At eleven or twelve, he left through its back gate after swearing before his deceased mother to return and destroy the life that had wronged them. He adopted her surname, Huo, and set out alone for the Star Dou Great Forest. 12

In the forest, he met Tang Ya and Bei Bei through his grilled fish. Shortly afterward, he survived an encounter with a Wind Baboon; a white soul ring formed after the beast was secretly killed by Lin Yuan. Huo Yu Hao recognized that the ring was incompatible with his Spiritual Eye, before Sky Dream Ice Silkworm reached him and made him its host. 12 13

He later enrolled at Shrek Academy as a specially admitted student despite possessing only Rank 11 soul power. Bei Bei became his senior disciple brother, and Huo Yu Hao joined the Tang Sect. 16 20

Huo Yu Hao initially appears as a lean, well-proportioned boy of eleven or twelve, wearing clean but plain gray clothes and carrying a small bundle after leaving the White Tiger Duke's Mansion. 12

His early poverty makes him practical and self-reliant. He accepts Bei Bei's advice to earn money through work, runs a grilled-fish stall outside Shrek Academy, and develops as both a Soul Master and Soul Tool Engineer. 16 22 40

He is highly emotional where his family is concerned. Seeing Dai Hua Bin—whom he recognizes as one of those responsible for his mother's death—nearly overwhelms him, while meeting his biological father Dai Hao produces similar turmoil.
