Campus and Administration

Shrek Academy occupies a vast plain within Shrek City. The academy is not located in the city center, but in its eastern district, while its Inner Court is situated on Sea God Island in Sea God Lake. The academy holds independent governance rights over the city and pays no taxes to any country. Shrek City has a population exceeding two million and serves as a major commercial hub at the junction of the continent's three major empires. 14

Academic Structure

Outer Court

The Outer Court is divided into the Martial Soul Branch and Soul Tool Branch. New students must first register in the Martial Soul Branch and pass its first freshman assessment before becoming eligible to register in the Soul Tool Branch. The Martial Soul Branch occupies roughly two-thirds of the main teaching area, while the Soul Tool Department occupies the remaining third. 14

Students must pass advancement assessments to progress between grades; failure results in elimination or being advised to leave. The minimum Outer Court graduation standard is four-ring Soul Ancestor cultivation. 44 53

Inner Court

The Inner Court is based on Sea God Island. Admission is assessed annually and is aimed principally at senior Outer Court students, though recommended students from other academies may also apply. Passing is exceptionally difficult, and some years produce no successful entrants. 14 179

The academy recognizes outstanding students with the lifelong title Shrek Seven Devils. After winning the All-Continent High-Level Soul Master Academy Soul Dueling Tournament under depleted conditions, Lin Yuan's team received this title by a Sea God Pavilion vote; the award was kept confidential to protect their cultivation and studies. 106

Enrollment and Assessment

Entrance examinations apply regardless of a candidate's background or recommendation. Applicants who fail are sent home, while returning students must also pass promotion assessments before advancing. 53

Lin Yuan's Rank 39 soul power exceeded the requirements for the first two admission stages, allowing the academy to waive those assessments. He paid ten gold soul coins for one academic year and received a dormitory key, two school uniforms, and a white freshman badge. 14

Teaching and Culture

Shrek Academy uses strict, practical instruction. Zhou Yi, homeroom teacher of Freshman Class One, orders students to run one hundred laps around Shrek Plaza within an hour as punishment for failing to have fought since enrollment. 18

The academy preserves ten granite statues honoring Flender, Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong, and the first Shrek Seven Devils: Dai Mubai, Oscar, Tang San, Ma Hongjun, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing. 14

The academy later sends thirteen members—including Lin Yuan, Huo Yuhao, He Caitou, eight Soul Tool Department Inner Court elites, Yan Shaozhe, and Fan Yu—to the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy for an exchange program.
