He later took Ann and others to a world of Levatiel songstresses, where he declared his intent to take control of Tenba and claimed an injured Levatiel.

• Duanmu Huai rescued the students at Bastion Fortress, learned Azmodan was corrupting the Worldstone, and prepared to destroy it.

Duanmu Huai took control of Tenba’s Levatiels and led the Inquisition into the planet’s underground conflict, destroying the vampire strongholds and freeing their human captives. With the City of Glimmer secured, he turned to investigating the planet’s ruined surface and spreading Warp pollution.

• Duanmu Huai seized Tenba’s Levatiel and declared that the Inquisition would reclaim the world, while promising to leave its autonomous government in place and protect the Levatiels.
• Duanmu Huai’s party explored the surface and found an underground human civilization whose people fought vampires using dangerous Ghost Curse Weapons.
• Duanmu Huai killed the vampires at White Stone Outpost, then continued toward Vampire City with Hiiragi Shinoa, Sangū Mitsuba, Ann, and Lorena.

Duanmu Huai destroyed the C'tan Shard and then pursued a Witch Hunt in a modern city, joining forces with Chisato and AAA while investigating Kyubey and the girls who became Witches. After uncovering a possible link between Witches and Magical Girls, the group learned of a new lead in Kamihama City.

• Duanmu Huai destroyed the C'tan Shard, and the Sleeping Maiden absorbed its First Level Authority Construct before he finished erasing the planet's curse.
• Duanmu Huai accepted the Witch Hunt quest, met Kyubey in a modern city, and partnered with Chisato and Mika's café after recovering the gang's money.
• Duanmu Huai and Chisato entered a Witch's barrier at an abandoned factory, where he killed the Witch and questioned Kyubey's account of the factory owner's daughter.

Duanmu Huai uncovered the link between Magical Girls, Soul Stones, and Witches, then joined forces with Akemi Homura and Kamihama’s Magical Girls to investigate Magius’s Wings and Kyubey’s system. The group began searching for a way to save the girls while Duanmu Huai considered testing both a proposed soul-restoration method and Kamihama’s cleansing system.

• Duanmu Huai captured Mami Tomoe, discovered that her life depended on her Soul Stone, and learned from her that Grief Seeds cleansed it.
• Akemi Homura told Duanmu Huai and Yugiri Ayano that she had returned from the future and had seen Madoka Kaname become a Witch, so she agreed to help investigate Kamihama City.
• Duanmu Huai’s group met Nanami Yachiyo, Yui Tsuruno, and Tamaki Iroha, then investigated a rumor that had cursed Tamaki Iroha and destroyed its barrier to free her.
