Background / History

Su Yuntian was an ordinary high-school student from Earth who transmigrated into the body of an eleven-year-old orphan on the Douluo Continent. Before his awakening, he was sickly, had no Soul Power, and appeared unable to awaken a Martial Soul; he depended entirely on his older brother, Su Yuntao 1.

His consciousness was drawn into a Soul Power-testing crystal ball, where he encountered darkness, curses, and Gilgamesh. He subsequently inherited Gilgamesh's power and awakened Twin Martial Souls: the Key of Royal Law and a rare Four-Winged Angel 2 3. Su Yuntao immediately warned him to conceal the Angel Martial Soul, fearing the attention it would attract 3.

The awakening drew the interest of Xue Qinghe, who sent assassins after the brothers. During their escape, Su Yuntian secretly used the Four-Winged Angel to suppress Old Blade's Soul Power and, with Su Yuntao's assistance, killed him despite their immense difference in level 7 8. He later collapsed from exhaustion and was separated from his brother after Qian Renxue arranged for Su Yuntao to leave him in her care for at least three years 9.

Under the identity of Xue Qinghe, Qian Renxue brought him to Heaven Dou City and placed him in the Crown Prince's Mansion. Su Yuntian accepted a servant-like position in the entourage both for protection and to find Su Yuntao 10 11. He was later made a baron, knight, and the Crown Prince's companion reader after Xue Qinghe became Crown Prince 20.

After awakening his Martial Souls, Su Yuntian's appearance changed substantially from the black-haired, black-eyed child he had been before.

Su Yuntian is resilient, ambitious, and acutely aware that power is necessary to survive in the Douluo Continent. His late awakening leaves him anxious about falling behind stronger young Soul Masters, driving him to take calculated risks such as absorbing Soul Rings above normal age limits 13 33 36.

He is tactically minded in battle, preferring distance, positioning, and overwhelming weapon barrages over straightforward close combat 22. He can also be arrogant, playful, and provocative—particularly toward Ning Rongrong—but shows genuine loyalty toward Su Yuntao, Da Xue, and those who recognize or support him 17 28 36.

His stated ideal is to live freely without compromising his principles, while becoming strong enough to protect himself and the people he loves 26.

Su Yuntian possesses two Martial Souls, though he publicly presents only the Key of Royal Law.

Four-Winged Angel: Death Sentence Angel

The Angel Martial Soul possesses an innate suppression effect rather than a conventional Soul Skill.

Martial Soul Awakening and Nuoding Escape

Su Yuntian awakens his Twin Martial Souls at age eleven, becomes a target of Xue Qinghe's investigation, and is forced to flee Nuoding City with Su Yuntao. He reveals the Four-Winged Angel in desperation and helps kill Old Blade before collapsing 2 4 8 9.

Crown Prince's Mansion

After being separated from Su Yuntao, Su Yuntian joins Xue Qinghe's entourage and travels to Heaven Dou City. Under Xue Qinghe's guidance, he corrects his cultivation method, reaches Level 10, and receives his first Soul Ring and Gate of Babylon 11 12 13.

Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect Conflict

Su Yuntian repeatedly clashes with Ning Rongrong and Ning Fengya, defeating the siblings through Aether Gate tactics despite a level disadvantage. His later friendship with Ning Fengya helps the latter regain confidence in his mutated Martial Soul 16 22 23 28.

Second Soul Ring Hunt

After reaching Level 20, Su Yuntian hunts a 1,700-year Snow Fox with Lu Renjia and Lin Mengzhui. He resists the beast's illusion, absorbs its Soul Ring beyond the expected limit, reaches Level 23, and gains the Charm-type skill Beautiful Youth of Red Face 32 33 34.
