Leng Yaozhu is a leading figure of the Spirit Pagoda faction opposed to the Qiangu Clan. While the Qiangu side prioritizes expanding Spirit Ascension Platforms for profit, her side favors studying the platforms' underlying potential and data. She became involved in the Eastsea City platform malfunction after a virtual Wind Baboon annihilated all entrants, absorbed spiritual energy, and corrupted the platform's records. Recognizing the anomaly's research value, she travelled with Han Tianyi to investigate and obtain its core data. 41

She regarded Lin Chen as a useful counterweight to the Qiangu Clan, having observed how he recovered from being left an orphan after Qiangu Yunling had his parents killed.
