Obito's Cousin

"Something's not right. Even Teacher Minato wouldn't use such a powerful ninjutsu." The silver-haired youth, Kakashi Hatake, also sensed that something was amiss with their surroundings, as if a great battle had just taken place.

"Hm? You're the Jonin from my clan?!" Obito was also somewhat suspicious. He seemed to have trouble believing that the person Teacher Minato had been chasing was a child.

"Teacher Minato? What happened here? Is this really the target we were just chasing?" Rin Nohara asked in surprise.

Minato looked a bit serious. Before he could speak, Shigure easily called out the names of these people.

"Minato, are these the members of your team? Kakashi Hatake, Rin Nohara, and Obito Uchiha?"

The three ninjas, looking at Shigure, a white-haired youth younger than themselves, were filled with questions.

"Hey, who are you?" Obito Uchiha asked directly.

"He has the Uchiha clan crest on him." Kakashi observed carefully and said cautiously.

"It really looks like it!" Obito didn't dare to approach Shigure, to confirm if he was truly from the Uchiha clan.

"Ah! Teacher Minato, you didn't chase after him, did you!?" Rin Nohara said.

"How is that possible? He's so young? How can he possess speed comparable to Teacher Minato? Does such a person truly exist in this world?" Kakashi Hatake was unwilling to believe it.

However, Minato Namikaze seemed struck by it too. He sighed, "Yes, although it may be discouraging for you, he is indeed the one we were chasing. However, this young Uchiha is not yet a Jonin. Obito, Rin, he's just a Genin like you."

"Genin!?"

"A Genin could make Teacher Minato unable to catch up!?"

"Impossible!? How could this be!"

"It can't be him, right? Teacher, you must be joking with us."

The three members of Minato Namikaze's team were all disbelieving at this moment. It wasn't that they didn't believe Shigure was a Genin, but rather that they couldn't believe a mere Genin possessed speed that even their teacher couldn't match.

"Grand-uncle-master! Although you three are a bit older than me, your generation is two full levels below mine!" Shigure explained it to Minato, and only then did everyone understand the relationship.

"Uchiha genealogy? I don't know about that. To be honest, I don't have that good of a relationship with the Uchiha clan members. I don't even consider myself part of the Uchiha clan." Shigure spoke his true feelings.

Obito nodded, "As expected."

Shigure took two steps forward cautiously, raising his hand and asking, "As expected? Why do you say that? What do you mean?"

"Junior Grand-uncle." Minato called out softly, and Shigure realized he had been a bit rude.

However, Obito seemed to have anticipated Shigure's reaction. He then explained, "Shigure, your feelings, I seem to understand them somewhat. According to the records in our Uchiha clan genealogy, Shigure, your status should be considered my cousin?"

"What? Obito, you're not joking, are you?" Minato Namikaze was greatly surprised.
