Boom!
Vegeta was kicked flying by Zarbon once again. His whole body was embedded in a massive boulder, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
This was the second time he had suffered such a serious injury. The first had been when he fought Kakarot and his two sons on Earth.
"Damn it! I'm the strongest warrior! I won't lose! I'll definitely defeat you!"
A powerful aura burst from Vegeta, and a White Aura flared around him as he fired an Energy Blast at Zarbon. His opponent casually knocked it aside.
"Vegeta, looks like you're ready to fight to the death. Too bad you're still no match for me."
Zarbon began gathering an Energy Blast in his hand. He decided to use the Prince's own tactic and unleashed a barrage at Vegeta.
The ground erupted in an instant. Vegeta leaped frantically from side to side, dodging in a wretched scramble, but Zarbon's Energy Blasts were so dense that he was struck before long.
Rumble!
More and more blasts slammed into him, and the smoke grew thicker and thicker!
After firing several hundred blasts, Zarbon finally stopped attacking.
Boom!
As the smoke cleared, Vegeta's Battle Suit was in tatters, and his body was covered in wounds. He panted heavily, blood streaking the corner of his mouth.
Then his body dropped heavily to the ground. It seemed he had lost the ability to fight.
If Zarbon had continued firing another hundred or so Energy Blasts, Vegeta would surely have died there.
Collect!
Son Gohan gathered the Battle Power attributes from the ground and saw that his Battle Power had risen to 4.4 million.
He was overjoyed, a faint, pleased smile curving his lips. Cheating really was awesome.
"Th-That's incredible! That monster's even stronger than Vegeta. What do we do?"
Krillin watched the battle between the two, his mouth hanging open.
Although the Grand Elder had increased his Battle Power, it still wouldn't surpass Vegeta's.
"What else can we do? We're here for the Dragon Balls, so let's kick his ass!"
Bulma shouted at Krillin. The fighters moved so quickly that she couldn't see them at all.
It was like watching gods and demons fight. In an instant, an entire mountain disappeared, and craters kept appearing in the ground.
All she could hear were the occasional sounds of their blows colliding in the sky. It had just seemed as if the area had been hit by a barrage of missiles.
If Son Gohan and the others weren't beside her, she would have been scared out of her mind by now.
"Gohan, my Battle Power has gone up quite a bit. Let me give it a try!"
Krillin said eagerly. He hadn't fought at all since his Battle Power had increased.
He wanted to see just how strong he had become.
"Go ahead. I'll keep an eye on you."
Son Gohan couldn't have asked for more. That meant he'd get another chance to collect Battle Power.
He had just checked the Attribute Panel. He'd gained a lot from Vegeta and Zarbon's fight.
"You monster, let me see how strong you are!"
With Son Gohan's approval, Krillin's body flared with a White Aura, and he flew toward Zarbon.
If he couldn't beat him, he still had a powerful ally backing him up.
"Arrogant fool! You're ignorant of your own weakness. I'll teach you Earthlings a proper lesson."
After transforming, Zarbon had tremendous power within him, leaving him unafraid of anything.
Besides, it had been a long time since he'd used this form. It was a rare chance to have someone to play with.
As soon as he finished speaking, he vanished from where he stood. By the time he reappeared, he was right in front of Krillin.
The two immediately traded punches and kicks, neither gaining the upper hand. Thanks to his extensive battle experience, Krillin held his own against Zarbon.
"Not bad, kid. I underestimated you. Try this punch!"
Zarbon's strength and speed surged. He threw a punch, and Krillin had no time to react, raising both arms to block it.
Boom!
The tremendous impact sent him flying, and waves of soreness shot through his arms.
"Kame...hame...ha!"
Krillin flipped through the air, using a full 360-degree turn to dissipate the force, then gathered his energy and unleashed a Kamehameha.
"You want to test your strength against mine? I'll give you what you want!"
Zarbon had already gained the upper hand in their close-quarters fight. Seeing Krillin's stance, he realized his opponent was about to use an energy attack.
He wasn't about to back down, and gathered a White Aura in his palm.
The two immediately thrust the energy they had gathered forward.
Boom!
Two enormous beams of light collided, neither yielding an inch!
Seeing this, Krillin's confidence soared. He couldn't believe the Grand Elder had brought out his hidden potential and made him this powerful.
"Ha ha ha! Little bald guy, is that all you've got? Die!"
Just as Krillin was congratulating himself, Zarbon's words poured cold water over him, chilling him from head to toe.
As soon as he finished speaking, Zarbon poured out his energy. His beam instantly swelled, and the Kamehameha began retreating at incredible speed.
"Heh, I thought I'd become stronger than Vegeta. Turns out he was just playing around the whole time and hadn't even used his real strength."
Krillin's thoughts raced as he watched the Kamehameha being pushed back.
He was still too weak.
"Try mine too—Kamehameha!"
Son Gohan vanished in an instant. When he reappeared, he was right in front of Krillin.
He fired a Kamehameha at Zarbon too. That would teach him to look down on us Earthlings' signature move.
The enormous energy wave swallowed Zarbon whole. He didn't even manage to let out a scream before he died.
"That was close!"
Krillin let out a sigh of relief as he watched Zarbon get blasted to pieces by the Kamehameha.
That guy had been hiding his true strength so well. Krillin had nearly been killed by him.
"Gohan, you're amazing!"
Seeing Son Gohan defeat Zarbon with a single move, Bulma gazed at him with admiration and awe.
As long as he was by her side, she felt completely safe.
Collect!
Son Gohan smiled and nodded as all the Battle Power attributes on the ground surged into his body.
The system's Battle Power kept increasing. His Battle Power had gone up again.
"That Saiyan's still alive. What should we do?"
Krillin walked over and saw that Vegeta was still breathing. He turned to Son Gohan, Bulma, and Dende and asked.
He couldn't help admiring Vegeta's tenacity. After taking so many hits, he was still alive.
"I want to kill him and avenge my brothers!"
Dende glared fiercely at Vegeta, who lay on the ground.
He hadn't seen Vegeta kill his people, but they were all wearing the same clothes.
"It looks like they're not on the same side. Let's wake him up and see."
Son Gohan thought it over. In the anime, Vegeta eventually became a good person.
His nature hadn't been entirely corrupted yet. In the Majin Buu Saga, he sacrificed himself alongside Majin Buu to protect Earth.
Besides, keeping him around would make it easier to collect Battle Power attributes in the future.
Son Gohan crouched beside Vegeta, held out his hands, and let a White Aura flow slowly into his body.
What?
Dende stared at Son Gohan in shock. Wasn't that his Healing Technique?
How could Gohan know how to use it too?
Could he have learned it just from watching Dende use it once last time?
Krillin saw what was going on too. This was just too ridiculous.
Dende had only used the Healing Technique on him once, and Gohan had already learned it?
Krillin's jaw dropped, and he stared at Son Gohan in disbelief.
But before long, Krillin broke into a happy smile. The stronger Gohan became, the safer they would all be.
