They looked as if they had appeared out of thin air.

Why were Saiyans appearing on Earth with Goku and the others?

It was a fusion of the Instant Transmission techniques used by the Yardratians and Kibito, the Supreme Kai's attendant.

In the Dragon Ball anime, Instant Transmission had two versions.

The Yardratians' Instant Transmission relied on sensing energy. If the user couldn't sense someone's energy, they couldn't use the technique.

Kibito, the Supreme Kai's attendant, didn't need to rely on sensing energy. He could go wherever he pleased in the lower realm, including any planet.
