The Iron Islands, a realm forged from icy seas and hard rock, had seven main islands at its heart: Pike Island, ruled by House Greyjoy; the mineral-rich Great Wyk; the ancient and sacred Old Wick Island; the vast and powerful Harlaw; the cliff-lined Saltcliff Island; the treacherous Blacktyde Isle with its swirling currents; and the densely forested Oak Island.
This time, Yulon, piloting the "Hao Yin," was like a tireless sea eagle, soaring over lands he had never set foot on. He delved deep into the smoke-filled mines of Great Wyk, stood on the ancient reefs of Old Wick Island where the Kingsmoot was held, surveyed the towering white cliffs of Saltcliff Island, investigated the eerie whirlpools and currents of Blacktyde Isle, and even traversed the gloomy forests of Oak Island. He didn't spare the more than twenty small, desolate reefs scattered around the main islands, etching every corner of the Iron Islands into his mind with meticulous detail.
This near-obsessive, comprehensive tour brought him a rich reward—a full 1030 points!
As the prow of the "Hao Yin" once again broke through the familiar waves of Pike Island, before the ship had even fully docked, Yulon impatiently immersed himself in the depths of his consciousness and initiated the mystical drawing ceremony. Ten brilliant lights flashed in succession, and the gifts of fate were presented one by one:
[Food: Seafood Fried Rice] A steaming, generously filled fried rice. The fresh sweetness of the seafood seemed to dispel the salty tang of the sea breeze. It was the first meal made by Sanji of the Straw Hat Pirates when he appeared. It was indeed delicious, but it was merely food.
Food is best eaten hot, hmm, it smells amazing!!!
[Special Item: Lineage Factor] A life blueprint discovered by the scientist Vegapunk and Vinsmoke Judge's (Sanji's father) team in One Piece. It is defined as the core substance determining a creature's genetic traits, possessing the danger of modifying a creature's genes. In the anime, it was implanted during the embryonic stage of offspring, granting them immense strength, venom abilities, exoskeleton defense, and other powers upon growing up.
It's impossible to revert Yulon to an embryonic state now, so under the adjustment of the world's will, it became: Consume it, and the dormant lineage within your body may be activated.
[Talent: Archaeologist] A sudden awakening of intuition, granting him extraordinary insight into historical fragments within ancient carvings and shipwreck remains. Simultaneously, he possesses a talent for language learning far beyond that of ordinary people.
[Skill: Beginner - Shipbuilding] A flood of knowledge about keel selection, hull design, and storm-resistant structures poured into his mind, far surpassing the current craftsmanship of the Iron Islands.
[Skill: Cooking Skills lv1] He gained exquisite control over the heat and seasoning of ingredients, no longer limited to simple grilling.
[Skill: Beginner - Meteorology] He can interpret changes in clouds, wind direction, and waves to predict short-term weather patterns.
[Talent: Fishman Breathing] His lung capacity was strangely enhanced, allowing him to hold his breath underwater for extended periods, much like the mythical creatures of the sea folk.
[Skill: Six Powers - Kami-e - lv1] He mastered a peculiar evasion technique, allowing him to drift like a piece of paper in the wind during combat, sensing air currents and nullifying force.
[Item: Dance Powder] A small bag of peculiar powder, said to strangely interfere with rainfall in specific areas, containing dangerous political potential. Perhaps it could be of great use at certain times.
[Item: Seastone] A dull, pigeon-egg-sized strange mineral. Holding it in hand, one could feel a faint, uncomfortable energy, which might be of great effect on specific targets.
But it possessed a hardness comparable to diamonds. In Westeros, who could use it for forging?
Of the 10 draws, Yulon considered the most useless to be the [Food: Seafood Fried Rice] which had already been eaten. Next was [Skill: Cooking Skills], not that it was bad, but with his current noble status, he rarely had the chance to showcase his culinary skills in the kitchen. [Skill: Beginner - Shipbuilding] and [Skill: Beginner - Meteorology] were more like long-term investments. [Item: Dance Powder] and [Item: Seastone] would be carefully stored, their usefulness uncertain. The most valuable were [Skill: Six Powers - Kami-e - lv1], [Talent: Archaeologist], and [Talent: Fishman Breathing].
Several months ago, a Braavosi water dancer set foot on the hard land of Pike Island. His name was Raphael Ortega, his demeanor elegant yet tinged with melancholy. He had not come for adventure or riches, but for a passionate love that brought disaster. He was infatuated with a famous Braavosi courtesan and, in a duel fought for her, had fatally wounded the favored son of a powerful merchant magnate with his rapier. Victory won the beauty's fleeting favor, but also brought pursuit and hatred that made it impossible for him to remain in Braavos, forcing him to flee across the Narrow Sea to the Iron Islands to lie low.
Since Yulon mastered [Skill: Six Powers - Kami-e], his combat ability had undergone a qualitative leap.
Raphael's rapier was as swift as a viper's strike, but before Yulon's increasingly keen senses, it repeatedly missed its mark. Yulon's movements became like fallen leaves drifting in the wind, able to accurately predict and align with the airflow of each attack, causing the deadly sword tip to graze his clothes by mere millimeters. The two confronted each other daily in a seaside training ground, the clash of steel mingling with the sound of the waves. One imparted the fluid swordsmanship of Braavos, while the other honed this art of evasion until it became instinctual.
Meanwhile, [Talent: Archaeologist] granted Yulon not only insight into ancient artifacts but also an extraordinary comprehension of linguistic symbols. When learning other languages from Lysa, his astonishing speed even surprised her. Obscure grammar and ancient vocabulary quickly fell into place in his mind, connecting. In just a few months, he could shed the stumbles of a beginner and engage Lysa in profound conversations in fluent and accurate High Valyrian. The language of those ancient kings, spoken from his lips, carried a chilling authority.
And [Talent: Fishman Breathing] completely changed Yulon's relationship with the sea. He was no longer just a raider who sailed ships, but had become a part of the ocean. He could dive deep into the cold, dark depths like a seal, his powerful lungs allowing him to stay underwater for extended periods. His speed weaving through the reefs even surpassed that of startled fish, moving with such agility as if gravity had lost its hold in the water. This sea, which had nurtured the Ironborn and swallowed countless others, now lay before him as a vast courtyard to explore and conquer at will.
Finally, Yulon gazed at the [Special Item: Lineage Factor].
Yulon stood alone on the highest sea stack of Pike Island, with dark, colossal waves roaring and crashing against the black rocks below. He tightly gripped the black jade container in his hand, the liquid within seeming to hold a miniature, storm-ravaged ocean. Without hesitation, he tilted his head back and drank it down.
An otherworldly coldness exploded instantly, freezing his blood and breath, as if he had swallowed the core of eternal winter. Immediately after, a searing heat surged, burning like molten rock through every one of his veins! He grunted, falling to one knee, his fingernails digging deep into the hard rock. His bones emitted faint cracking sounds under the unbearable strain, muscle fibers tearing and then frantically reconstructing. His consciousness was cast into an endless, dark, deep ocean, sinking in a vortex of pain.
Just as his consciousness was about to dissipate, a magnificent illusion unfurled before his eyes: a majestic throne, built from colossal coral, the skeletal remains of pale sea monsters, and the keels of countless shipwrecks, stood at the bottom of a silent abyss. Upon the throne sat a figure, blurred yet immensely imposing, wearing a crown of intertwined seaweed and dull metal. In his hand, a massive, pale bone spear seemed capable of piercing the primordial chaos. Giant sea dragons and North Sea krakens lay docilely at his feet—it was the Grey King, the progenitor who ruled all oceans in Ironborn mythology!
The intense pain receded like a tide, and an unprecedented sense of power surged from the depths of his blood, vast and ancient. He slowly stood up, his body as light as sea foam, yet imbued with the heavy strength of a reef. The world in his perception had completely changed: he could clearly "hear" the ripples stirred by a school of mackerel fleeing in fright miles away, "smell" the sulfur emanating from deep-sea volcanic vents, and even "touch" the slumbering, slowly beating earth veins at the base of the island beneath his feet. Pike Island was no longer just cold stone; it felt like an extension of his own body.
A more profound change originated from the depths of his soul. A strand of a desolate, majestic, non-human will awakened within him. When he looked again at the vast ocean that had consumed countless Ironborn ancestors, his gaze was entirely different—no longer a conqueror scrutinizing a beast to be tamed, but a returning king, looking down upon his birthright, his unquestionable domain. This bloodline did not grant him divine abilities to manipulate seawater, but it bestowed upon him unparalleled affinity and understanding of the ocean, an aura that instinctively commanded awe from all sea creatures, and a primal sense of submission deeply rooted in the source of all Ironborn bloodlines, one that sent shivers down the soul.
His eyes were no longer the windows of a mortal. His left eye was the abyss-black that consumed all, purer than the deepest midnight, as if all light falling into it would be crushed, absorbed, leaving only absolute emptiness and deathly stillness. Conversely, his right eye was the fierce azure of the sea before a storm, seemingly imprisoning impending thunder and lightning snakes that tore through the sky, surging with near-violent energy.
Grey King Bloodline: 1. Extended Ocean Perception: Consciousness can spread to surrounding waters like a jellyfish, perceiving subtle changes in currents, the movements of fish schools, and even the approach of large creatures (like seals or sharks) within miles without visual confirmation. This is especially strong during storms, allowing one to "read" the anger and rhythm of the waves. 2. Large marine creatures will instinctively feel awe or curiosity towards you, rather than attacking, and you may even command legendary sea beasts. 3. Deep Sea Body: Strength and endurance are significantly amplified in water, with swimming speeds comparable to the fastest dolphins. The body can better resist water pressure and cold, allowing for dives far deeper than normal humans and maintaining core body temperature and activity in icy waters. 4. Bloodline Majesty: Ironborn who worship the Drowned God will awaken a sense of awe and submission from the depths of their bloodline. 5. Unknown. 6. Unknown...
These Abyssal Eye and Azure Eye are manifestations of the power within his bloodline.
Abyssal Eye (Left Eye · Black):
All illusions and magical disguises are exposed before this absolute reality, with falsehoods twisting and dissipating like thin gauze thrown into a raging fire, revealing their ugly or ordinary true forms beneath. He can even actively perceive bodily ailments and ingested poisons as "impurities," drawing them out with his will, consuming them, and turning them into nothingness. Simply by gazing, raging flames will be choked as if by an invisible hand, rapidly dimming and extinguishing, leaving only smoke.
Azure Eye (Right Eye · Blue):
This eye, however, commands the violent forces of the external world. The water currents within his sight are no longer free; they gather and swirl according to his will, forming colossal fists that strike everything or incredibly resilient water shields. He can perceive and guide the flowing energy in the atmosphere, summoning storms and causing clouds to gather at unnatural speeds, with gales and lightning obeying his command.
This power is immensely strong. Even a slight attempt left him feeling dizzy and disoriented. Clearly, it will take many long years of training and adaptation to continuously wield these two eyes that can command the sea to bow.
