"Didn't you pass out?" Marco asked in surprise. First impressions mattered so much. Shirakawa had struck Marco as a frail, sickly kid, even though the two of them had already exchanged several blows.
Shirakawa smiled mysteriously, then unleashed an incredibly powerful wave of Conqueror's Haki that swept over Marco before vanishing in an instant, as if it had never happened.
"You have Conqueror's Haki?" Marco exclaimed, feeling as if an earthquake had just struck inside him.
"What's so surprising about that? Why can't I have Conqueror's Haki?"
"Nothing. I'm just a little shocked." Marco felt extremely out of sorts. He hadn't awakened Conqueror's Haki yet—and he didn't even know if he ever would.
Now he suddenly felt like Shirakawa had outshone him.
"Oden, that kid on your ship sure is astonishing." Kozuki Oden, who was drinking with Rayleigh and Gaban, was also amazed. Though Shirakawa had released his Conqueror's Haki for only an instant, everyone still conscious could hardly be called ordinary. Their senses were exceptionally sharp.
"If he keeps growing, your crew will have another extraordinary figure on its hands."
Kozuki Oden sighed. At present, the Whitebeard Pirates' top fighters were only their captain, Whitebeard Newgate, and the second division commander, Kozuki Oden. The likes of Marco and Jozu had yet to come into their own.
But in two days, the Whitebeard Pirates might have only Whitebeard left among their top fighters. Roger's goal was to get Kozuki Oden to join his crew, and Rayleigh and Gaban had been tasked with making that happen. That was why the three of them had been inseparable lately.
