Jing Pu was not one to shy away from praising others. He was quite straightforward, saying whatever came to mind.
Besides, it wasn't like he was saying anything offensive, so why hide it? People should get used to acknowledging others' good qualities; that way, they'd make more friends.
As Jing Pu finished writing two pieces of calligraphy for the small shop, and the proprietress was happily admiring his work, Jing Pu casually wrote another piece for Ling Ju. The four characters, Elegant Virtue and Leisurely Grace, seemed most fitting for Ling Ju. He just wasn't sure if she would like it.
Ling Ju, snapping back to attention, looked at Jing Pu with a flushed face and nodded repeatedly.
"Of course, I like it... Senior's calligraphy..."
Seeing Ling Ju's approval, Jing Pu smiled, rolled up the finished piece, and handed it to her. "Shall we head back then?"
With that, Jing Pu turned and waved goodbye to the proprietress, who was beaming with her newly acquired calligraphy, before walking out of the shop.
As Ling Ju quickly followed, the discerning proprietress glanced at Ling Ju's expression and sent her an encouraging look.
This made Ling Ju's already rosy cheeks even more flushed.
Half an hour later, Jing Pu returned to his courtyard and breathed a slight sigh of relief. Thankfully, Lie Chun and Ling Jing hadn't caused any more trouble for him.
The two of them had been diligently helping him level the ground. Although they were very curious about the Tribulation Crossing lightning clouds, they hadn't interfered.
The next month passed relatively peacefully. Or rather, it was the kind of life Jing Pu had wanted.
During this month, Jing Pu truly savored the joys of life.
He planned out his courtyard, planted flowers and grass, dug a pond, and raised a few fish. He even built a swing set with Ling Ju, along with other fun facilities.
In his free time, Jing Pu taught Ling Ju the Tea Dao, and she diligently studied.
Of course, most importantly, over the past month, Jing Pu had taught Lie Chun and Ling Jing swordsmanship and saber techniques, respectively.
Actually, Jing Pu hadn't expected them to keep practicing at first. He thought they would realize the futility of his mundane techniques after a day and give up.
But to Jing Pu's surprise, after just witnessing the opening stances of the sword and saber techniques, they were completely captivated.
However... to be honest, the two of them were incredibly dense!
They still hadn't grasped the basic opening stances after a whole month!
Jing Pu found it baffling. Was it really that difficult?
Couldn't anyone with hands do it?!
What made it worse was their sincere attitude. They called him "Senior" every day, acting very affectionately, which made it awkward for Jing Pu to refuse to teach them.
Aside from this minor annoyance, Jing Pu was quite satisfied with the past month.
In the early morning, Jing Pu was busy in the backyard. From today onward, most of the vegetables could be harvested.
Jing Pu planned to pick some vegetables this morning so he could cook himself a long-awaited delicious meal at noon.
Although he hadn't gone hungry these past few days and could buy whatever he wanted in Qinghe Town, those foods just didn't have the same flavor as something he made himself.
Meanwhile, a massive golden flying boat was soaring through the skies of the Blazing Dynasty. In front of the boat, shimmering golden in the dawn light, were six enormous golden Flood Dragons forming an imposing honor guard.
At the bow of the flying boat stood a young woman in a black python robe, gazing at the distant mountains, in the direction of the Divine Sword Sect.
The young woman had silver hair and red eyes. Her beauty and figure were breathtaking, rivaling even Ling Ju's, but with a hint of the exotic.
Her name was Yun Qiyao, the eldest princess of the Monster Emperor of the Northern Province.
As Yun Qiyao quietly gazed into the distance, an aged voice suddenly came from behind her. "Miss, which Immortal do you think has the ability to break the Curse?"
Listening to the voice, Yun Qiyao looked into the distance and slightly raised her delicate eyebrows. "It can't be broken, but perhaps suppressed. I heard that even someone as proud as Ling Ju, after knowing a certain Immortal for only a day, was willing to become a servant, fetching tea and water. That Immortal's strength must be unimaginably powerful."
The elder behind Yun Qiyao spoke expressionlessly. "No matter how strong, they are still human. Although the Human Race and the Monster Race are allies, there are plenty of covert conflicts. It's only because of the Demon Race that they are forced to ally."
"And since that Immortal is a super expert, they must have experienced the Battle of Shenzhou Mountain between the Human Race and the Monster Race thousands of years ago. They probably hate the Monster Race even more than others."
Yun Qiyao listened to the elder's words, her lips curving into a beautiful arc. "We're not asking for help for free; we'll naturally show our sincerity. How will we know if we don't try?"
As she spoke, Yun Qiyao revealed a pair of slightly sharp, pointed canines and smiled cunningly. "Besides, even if it doesn't work out, at least we'll get to see Ling Ju fetching tea and serving people. That alone would be worth it."
The elder behind Yun Qiyao nodded slightly and said no more.
As Jing Pu bent over, working in the fields, Ling Ju's sweet voice came from the entrance of the backyard.
Jing Pu turned around and saw Ling Ju and the other two standing at the backyard entrance, looking at him.
A month ago, Jing Pu had told Ling Ju and the other two that they didn't need to knock in the mornings anymore; they could just come in directly. Otherwise, Jing Pu would have to run to the front yard to open the door for them, which was a hassle.
Seeing the three of them arrive, Jing Pu turned back to inspect the plants in the yard. "Wait for me for a moment."
Lie Chun and Ling Jing nodded, a look of satisfaction on their faces as they felt the dense Spiritual Power in the backyard.
Ling Ju, on the other hand, trotted off in another direction. The little rabbit Ling Ju had rescued a month ago was being kept by Jing Pu, as a companion to the Dragon Horse. Ling Ju visited it every day.
After checking all the vegetables in the yard, Jing Pu tidied himself up and walked towards Lie Chun and Ling Jing. Seeing their expressions, Jing Pu said with some helplessness:
"Are you two still going to practice that starting stance today?"
Hearing Jing Pu's words, Lie Chun and Ling Jing shook their heads sheepishly and said:
"Senior, the Myriad Sect Grand Ceremony is just over a month away. We've been advancing too quickly recently, and our Dao Hearts are a bit unstable. For the next month, we'll be in seclusion to stabilize our Dao Hearts."
As mentioned before, the matter of advancing in Cultivation is divided into two types: one is to enter seclusion for a breakthrough, and the other is to advance directly upon comprehending an opportunity.
Comparing the two, the latter is naturally better. However, Lie Chun and Ling Jing were very special, because in the past month, both of them had advanced far too quickly, far too quickly...
(A new week has begun, hmm... I'll continue to ask for votes. But I can't just say it. If today's recommendation votes exceed two hundred, I'll add another chapter tomorrow or early this morning. How about that?
There are over two thousand collections now, and usually around a hundred votes a day. This requirement isn't too much, is it? There are already 24 votes at six in the morning. If you don't have any books that you absolutely must vote for, please cast your votes for me first. Thank you, everyone.)
