Background and History
Under the Ancestral Dragon, the Dragon Race ruled the Four Seas and commanded scaled beings. The Dragon Gate helped expand the clan by refining eligible water-tribe bloodlines into true dragons. The Dragon-Han Calamity killed the Ancestral Dragon, scattered the gate, and left the race severely weakened 1 37 110.
The clan’s ancient elders survived in Dragon Abyss, also known as the Dragon Tomb, but accumulated karmic debt steadily eroded their bodies and vitality. Elsewhere, former subordinates such as the Innate Flood Dragons broke away; the Immortal Court later seized East Sea islands and spirit veins, extorted the Dragon Palace, and preyed on lesser dragons 3 30 33 37.
Ao Chen developed the Myriad Calamities Furnace Body to refine karmic energy and Sha Qi, giving the elders a means to recover. His confrontation with the Immortal Court then raised the Dragon Race’s standing and deterred some who had hunted or plundered its members 36 38 48 49.
Ao Chen subsequently recovered the Dragon Gate and entrusted it to the clan. Later, Candle Dragon accepted his proposal to settle dragons in his Inner Cosmos. Over three thousand years, 365 Zenith Heaven–level elders and descendants and tens of thousands of younger dragons entered it; others remained in the Primordial World 110 111 124 139.
Abilities and Resources
Myriad Calamities Furnace Body
- Ao Chen created this cultivation method for dragons burdened by karmic debt. It refines karmic energy and Sha Qi to nourish the body rather than allowing that energy to continue eroding it 36 37.
- The elders began cultivating it, and the karmic miasma in Dragon Abyss later thinned noticeably 38 111.
Dragon Gate
- Forged by the Ancestral Dragon, this clan treasure can refine a creature with a trace of water-vein or scaled bloodline into a true dragon if it leaps over the gate. The resulting true dragon is of the lowest grade 110.
- The gate’s core remained intact when Ao Chen recovered it, though it required minor repairs to restore its power 111.
Clan Treasuries
- The Four Sea Dragon Palaces hold innate spiritual treasures. The Dragon Kings drew on these stores to support Ao Chen’s cultivation; Ao Qin was killed while transporting the South Sea’s treasury 60 61 62.
- The clan’s Origin Small World contains more than thirty Innate Spiritual Roots, including five top-grade roots 70.
Relationships

- Candle Dragon — Younger sister of the Ancestral Dragon and revered as the Dragon Mother. She backed the migration into Ao Chen’s cosmos while remaining in Dragon Abyss to help safeguard the Four Seas 37 124 139.
- Ao Guang and the Four Sea Dragon Kings — Govern the Dragon Palaces, coordinate clan resources, and defend their territories 61 62 156 157.
- Immortal Court — Suppressed and extorted the East Sea Dragon Clan before Ao Chen forced East King Duke to agree to apologize and compensate it 30 48.
