Leaving Some Pokémon Behind

It was time to set out.

Yan Yang's gaze swept over the many Pokémon companions gathered around him, and he fell into brief thought.

If the next operation was truly as perilous as he sensed, then he needed to follow the principle of taking few, but taking the best.

That way, even if the worst happened, they would not all be wiped out. At least some sparks could be preserved.

Besides, he happened to have a perfectly reasonable excuse to temporarily settle some of his companions here.

Having made up his mind, Yan Yang first walked over to the young Pokémon, such as the Pancham and Gogoat. A relaxed smile appeared on his face as he played with them for a while.

It was both to let his overworked mind relax and to further strengthen the trust between himself and these native Pokémon.

They had just suffered tremendous trauma. Kindness and companionship were especially important now.

The timing was about right.

Yan Yang stood up and said to the Pokémon on the plateau, "We... are leaving."

The moment his words fell, obvious reluctance and panic appeared on the plateau Pokémon's faces.

Most of them had come to this plateau seeking shelter after being harmed or abandoned by humans. Deep down, they were filled with fear and distrust toward humans.

But the human before them was different. From his first appearance until now, he had never shown them any malice. Instead, he had healed their wounds, soothed their panic, and even promised to rescue their guardian.

Pokémon had pure hearts and the most direct sense of good and evil. At the very least, they had already come to see Yan Yang as a trustworthy companion.

Even their powerful guardian, Lord Volcanion, had not driven him away. What could they possibly say?
