Background / History
The civilization originated from a human seed fleet launched after its parent civilization was defeated and its homeworld fell. After more than a thousand years of flight, the fleet discovered the ruins of a prehistoric super-civilization, inherited its legacy, and obtained authority over the fire seed source. Humanity combined stripped fire seeds with specially structured warships and its own technology to create the first Kindling Warships. 17
Its founders chose to preserve the memory of this exile permanently. Even after tens of thousands of years, members are taught that their ancestors lost their homeland and that its location remains unknown. 388 473
Humanity first entered space after mastering nuclear fusion and polymer-grade materials, becoming a Level 1 interstellar civilization. It later expanded into the Kindling Supercluster, controlling territory across countless galaxies and developing into a super-galactic-cluster-level civilization stronger than its mother civilization. 49 669 1290
A catastrophe known as the Demon Extermination War eliminated High Civilizations across tens of thousands of light-years, including a Level 10 Super Civilization. The resulting vacuum enabled the Kindling Human Civilization to expand its territory by several thousand light-years over the following millennium; it reportedly also acquired a high-quality Civilization Artifact from the aftermath. 1449
Civilization System
Kindling Warships
Kindling Warships are the civilization's principal military foundation. Their unique module slots allow them to use creations from otherwise incompatible civilization systems, including technologies that normally could not be installed on human vessels. 17
- Warships acquire Origin Points by destroying creations and killing life forms in otherworldly battlefields. 18
- Origin Points and resources strengthen shipborne modules, producing combat-power growth far faster than ordinary technological advancement. 18 37
- Standard destroyer-class slots are fixed for a main cannon, armor, engine, radar, and energy shield; additional slots depend on hull quality and reinforcement level. 18
- The first-generation captain receives Origin Points at a 100% rate; the rate halves with each transfer of captaincy authority. 18
- As stronger civilizations employ energy-field fleets, ordinary Kindling Warships increasingly enter otherworldly battlefields in coordinated teams through Teleportation Link Devices rather than fighting alone. 607
Conventional Technology
The civilization does not rely solely on Kindling Warships. Conventional technology is treated as a necessary supplementary foundation, including civilian Star Gates, planetary shields, and conventional warship fleets. 573 733
- Conventional products can operate aboard Kindling Warships if their energy-transmission systems are adjusted. 733
- Conventional warships cannot harvest Origin Points or self-strengthen, but low cost and rapid production make them useful for quickly expanding military strength. 573
- Energy-field technology permits mass-produced conventional warships to confront Kindling Warships through fleet organization. 606
- During the Nanli Principality–Xitu Federation war, the two sides fielded tens of thousands of Kindling Warships alongside roughly 140,000 conventional warships. 771
Kindling Network
The Kindling Network is a civilization-wide network built on a Legendary-quality-or-higher module and sustained through the resources of the entire civilization. It provides battlefield communications, supports Origin Point allocation, and serves as the carrier for Origin Coins. 857
- Connection costs within civilization territory help subsidize near-negligible connection costs in outer battlefields. 857
- Captains upload intelligence on encountered otherworldly civilizations to the Civilization Archives through the network; the Alliance evaluates and rewards useful submissions. 883
- The Network is regarded as a Civilization Artifact and a “Civilization’s Heavy Instrument.” 857
Policies and Development Philosophy
The civilization uses the accumulated observations of innumerable otherworldly civilizations to identify dangers and avoid repeating their failures. 473 510
- Artificial intelligence — Strong AI is strictly controlled due to repeated examples of AI-caused disasters. 473 1517
- Biological modification — It does not permit modifications that alter the species’ physical form; lifespan extension relies on telomere compensation and body-refining techniques. 473
- Star beasts — It does not mass-domesticate star beasts and typically eliminates native star-beast populations during territorial expansion. 473
- Civilization legacies — Ruins and foreign legacies are used as references rather than accepted wholesale. 473
- Human origins — The civilization continues searching for its lost homeworld, viewing its original civilizational imprint and native genes as a safeguard for humanity’s true nature. 473
In the original universe, the civilization prioritizes acquiring resource-collection rights rather than indiscriminate destruction of other civilizations or high-level life forms. Its strength and expansionism are therefore tempered by a comparatively restrained diplomatic image. 1712
Kindling Human Civilization Alliance
The Kindling Human Civilization Alliance is the civilization’s overarching coordinating body. It is credited with enabling the civilization’s present prosperity and maintaining a large-scale system for resources, regulations, and interstellar cooperation. 733 1771
- It regulates and supports Kindling Warships through an established ecosystem of advancement paths, tactics, technical disciplines, and resources. 607 1563
- It promotes intelligence collection from otherworldly battlefields and rewards captains for valuable reports. 883
- It supports outer-battlefield expansion, where top powers and interstellar organizations lead wars of exploration beyond controlled territory. 655
- Its Civilization Artifact Hun Tian Yi possesses the known abilities Immortal Points the Way, Disaster Foresight, and Luck Deduction. 1771
- Luck Deduction can theoretically uncover the root of any matter if the Alliance is willing to spend sufficient civilization-level Luck. 1771
Relations with the Mechanical Human Civilization
The Mechanical Human Civilization originated from seed fleet No. 03, another fleet launched by humanity’s dying parent civilization. Unlike the Kindling Human Civilization, it followed mechanical modification and the Mechanist route. 1552
The two civilizations discovered one another through a natural wormhole after each had already become a regional power. Their first millennium of contact was a “honeymoon period” marked by technology exchange, resource trade, and mutual military support. 1553
- The Mechanical Human Civilization supplied conventional and mechanical technologies; the Kindling Human Civilization shared Kindling Warship reinforcement and Evolution knowledge and transferred low- and mid-tier Kindling Warships. 1553
- The Kindling Human Civilization centers its Evolution route on body-refining techniques and Kindling Warships. 1553
- The Mechanical Human Civilization centers its route on mechanical modification, gene-modification fluids, Mechanists, and Mechanical Deities. 1553
- Ideological conflict, competition for limited resources, and fears of foreign interference led both sides to reduce exchange and suppress the other’s development path internally. 1553 1554
- The Mechanical God Cult, headquartered in the Mechanical Human Civilization, remains one of its few forces retaining and supporting Kindling Warships. It is banned within Kindling Human Civilization territory but cannot be easily eliminated because of its protected position and special relationship to the Mechanical Human Civilization. 1554 1563
Notable Infrastructure and Resources
- Fire Seed Source — Mysterious creation inherited from prehistoric super-civilization ruins; the source from which shipboard fire seeds were stripped. 17
- Shipboard Fire Seeds — Core of Kindling Warships; provide growth potential and can improve in quality through rare resources and Civilization Points. 1099 1601
- Origin Points — Otherworldly-battlefield resource used with materials to reinforce and upgrade modules. 18
- Titanium Crystal — A heavily demanded mineral resource central to Kindling Warship development and territorial expansion. 655 857
- Civilization Points — Obtained by delivering a fatal blow to, or annihilating, Level 9-or-higher otherworldly civilizations; used to improve shipboard fire-seed quality. 1099
- Kindling Network — Civilization Artifact network supporting communications, Origin Coin circulation, and battlefield logistics. 857
- Hun Tian Yi — Colored Mythical-quality Civilization Artifact used by the Alliance for tracking and predictive deduction. 1769 1771
Trivia
- The civilization’s name reflects more than its warships: “Kindling” represents preserving civilization, learning from foreign civilizations, and carrying humanity’s lost inheritance forward. 510
- While Kindling Warships are its defining strength, the civilization rejects the view that warships must remain “pure” from conventional technology; extreme purists are only a small minority. 1708
- High-tier Kindling Warship advancement is supported by long-term otherworldly battlefields where vast warship legions operate together. 1601
