Mo Chen Was a Ray of Light

Mo Chen still couldn't make it out of Kusagakure in one go. He had dealt with the people outside the hospital, but others soon blocked his way.

All the other Shadow Clones had already been dispelled. Now only his original body and two Shadow Clones protecting Karin and her mother remained.

"Damn it, put down the human-shaped pill!"

"Leave the human-shaped pill behind, seal your Chakra, and get on your knees to beg for mercy. Otherwise, Kusagakure will hunt you down to the ends of the earth!"

He didn't turn to face the great-sword wielder. Instead, he used the force of the blow to propel himself a great distance forward.

Karin curled up in Shadow Clone Number Two's arms, clinging tightly to his neck. Her gaze stayed fixed on Shadow Clone Number One, and she stared at him in a daze.

She couldn't understand why he would go to such lengths for her when they were complete strangers.

A rush of warmth welled up inside her, warming her whole body and softening her heart.

Mo Chen was a ray of light, shining into her once-dark world.

Aside from her mother, he was the first person to protect her.

Ever since she'd watched the Future videos, she had secretly vowed that if Mo Chen could rescue her and her mother from the hellhole of Kusagakure, she would spend the rest of her life repaying him.
