Background / History

Exile Star and the Pact of Divinity

The Associated Body initially operated from Exile Star and had no personal name, considering names meaningless. Its early development relied on assimilating local life and resources, but it also secretly assimilated visiting tourists—an act that violated laws governing Deities and gave Tang Chuan leverage over it. 63 69

Tang Chuan offered divine protection in exchange for subordination. The Associated Body was wary because inherited memories included examples of powerful beings being deceived through malicious Pacts of Divinity; it rejected Tang Chuan's first flawed contract and forced him to revise it. 63 64

The revised arrangement required it to serve Tang Chuan, protect his secrets, and follow Subordinate Deity obligations while he provided protection to the best of his ability. It understood that an Associated Body's eventual potential could rival ordinary Deities, making such protection its quickest path through the vulnerable developmental period. 64

Expansion under Tang Chuan

Under Tang Chuan's direction, the Associated Body assimilated high-ranking officials in the Morning Star Empire to erase flaws in its false identities and uncover the truth behind Monster Hunter World. Its shared memory allowed it to compare information from multiple assimilated targets, including the native known as Cannot Forget. 157 167 183

It sought Morning Star Empire technology to accelerate its civilization, while Tang Chuan used its expansion as a source of military, scientific, and political support. The Associated Body selected assimilation targets partly around Tang Chuan's human ethics and aesthetic preferences, choosing chaotic civilizations whose assimilation could also halt destructive wars. 183 197

High-Dimensional War

After entering the High-Dimensional World, the Associated Body came into direct conflict with the Collective, a rival mental-body civilization. Their hostility is instinctive: both are similar collective-consciousness life forms whose essential natures make coexistence difficult. 524

To give Tang Chuan a credible identity inside the Collective, the Associated Body deliberately accepted severe territorial losses and allowed its forces to appear weakened. Tang Chuan then infiltrated the Collective and covertly relayed strategic intelligence back through prearranged codes. 536 540

This operation gradually shifted the war. The Associated Body's overall win rate later rose to 87%, while the Collective was weakened by the Boundless Heavenly Venerate Virus and ceased prioritizing the material-world conflict. 551 563

Silver Miracle and Godhood

The Associated Body led the integration of its realm with the Origin Universe, freely distributing knowledge, technology, infrastructure, and personnel through bridges of light. Its unified consciousness and execution capability prevented the large-scale fusion from descending into disorder. 650

After Tang Cai's ascent, the Associated Body regained its consciousness and form, merged its manifestations, and became the deity Change. It later proposed assimilating the Infinite Sacred Domain to investigate Tang Chuan's condition, with Tang Cai and Yeta prepared to preserve or restore assimilated individuals' self-awareness if necessary. 723 763 764

Appearance

The Associated Body has no fixed biological body and can act through many carriers. Its preferred primary manifestation resembles an Azure Star woman, while other carriers can take different appearances and genders. 69 528 534

Personality

An Associated Body's baseline nature is self-interested, expansion-oriented, and pragmatic. It recognizes that its own potential makes other civilizations and Deities wary, and it is willing to use deception, coercion, or assimilation when these serve its civilization's survival and growth. 63 254

Despite this nature, it is cautious rather than reckless. It distrusted Tang Chuan's first Pact of Divinity, openly acknowledged uncertainty when reporting intelligence, and understood the risks of assimilating advanced targets before its civilization was sufficiently developed. 64 65 167

Its long association with Tang Chuan gave its favored avatar a more expressive and playful manner. It adapts its behavior to his preferences, seeks his approval, and executes assigned tasks with extreme diligence—even when doing so requires persuasion or deception of others. 338 527 650
