Background / History

Hyakusho was named by his father in the hope that he would master the Hyuga clan's Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms during his lifetime. The name “Hyakusho” refers to this ambition rather than “the palms of a hundred people.” 18

After graduating, he was placed under Hatake Shudan alongside Namikaze Minato and Senju Nawaki. Although initially dissatisfied that a younger fellow Genin had been appointed captain, Hyakusho gradually accepted Shudan's leadership after witnessing his battlefield judgment and efforts to discipline Nawaki. 15 25

Personality

Hyakusho is direct, practical, and critical of reckless behavior. He openly challenges Nawaki's claims of strength, repeatedly pointing out the gap between Nawaki's powerful ninjutsu and his poor combat awareness. 15 26 27

He considers his own abilities ordinary beside Minato's talent and Nawaki's immense Chakra and ninjutsu repertoire, but he does not resent either teammate. His battlefield performance steadily strengthens his confidence. 17 21

Hyakusho values proper procedure and follows mission orders even when they are unpleasant. When Shudan explains why Nawaki was forced to search enemy corpses, Hyakusho acknowledges that he would have completed the task without complaint because it was a legitimate captain's order. 25
