Dozens of people had joined the team, and he left that matter to Usop.
Night Town had a total of three entrances and exits. He assigned one of them to a level 52 Elite Mage who had just joined the Imperial Guard. He also handed Xiu Ma over to the Tauren Heavy Fist. Although Xiu Ma was still very timid and not very bright, with Heavy Fist's enhancement, Xiu Ma's nearly ten thousand health could withstand an attack.
He himself returned to the side of Commander Altaia and the Mayor.
After pushing open the door, he asked directly, "Have you decided? What other way is there to destroy that Necromancer?"
The Mayor shook his head and said helplessly, "It's not a matter of whether we can find a way. That undead has been alive for hundreds of years, and wanted posters are everywhere. Yet, it hasn't been caught or killed because its magic is too powerful. It's so powerful that only Silver Elite Paladins or Priests can contend with it. Listen carefully, contend! Not defeat it! To kill it, at least five level 60 Elite Priests or Paladins working together would be needed."
"Then what should we do! Are we just going to wait for death?" Sun Busong wasn't afraid of death, but his Imperial Guard had just been established, and Little Niu and Usop had just wholeheartedly prepared to go all out with him!
He wouldn't allow such a thing to happen. The Imperial Guard couldn't die so miserably!
At this moment, Commander Altaia, who had been silent, spoke. She sat in her chair, resting her elbows on the table and covering her face with her hands, saying in a very low voice, "The only remaining method is to wait. Use lives to stall the undead and await rescue from Stormwind. I've already sent people to the nearest town to request reinforcements."
"But will Stormwind send people?"
This was the Mayor asking, but Sun Busong treated it as nonsense! If Stormwind could send reinforcements here, he'd eat his underwear!
He couldn't just wait. Sun Busong activated several of his Grandmaster Level professional skills and flipped through blueprints one by one, hoping to find Equipment or Devices that could counter or even destroy the Necromancer.
Time quickly passed until 12 o'clock!
There were 2 hours left until the Necromancer Morbent Fell launched his village massacre.
Just then, the door to the Commander's office was knocked on urgently.
"Enter!"
A Night Watchman rushed in. Covered in wounds and with disheveled hair, he knelt on one knee and said, choking back sobs, "Commander, it's bad! All the team members we sent for help were killed by them! Those Zombies ate their flesh, and they even turned our Night Watchmen's corpses into Skeleton Soldiers!"
"This damned Necromancer! I'll kill it! I'll kill it! I... sob sob sob... Someone save us!"
Commander Altaia Eberlock collapsed upon hearing this news!
She yelled loudly, losing all semblance of a commander. Tears streamed from her eyes, and she cried hysterically!
Her mournful cries even reached downstairs.
"You coward! Is the leader of the Night Watchmen blind? How could they choose a useless person like you to be the Commander of the Duskwood Night Watch!"
Seeing Commander Altaia collapse on the ground and weep uncontrollably, Sun Busong's suppressed rage erupted.
"My people are out there preparing to defend Night Town to the death, but what about you? You are the guardian of Night Town! What right do you have to cry now? Get up! You idiot!"
"Get out of the room and face the Night Watchmen waiting for your command, face the Night Town villagers yearning for salvation. Go cry in front of them, cry for them to see, let them know that it's all over, Night Town is finished, they are finished, not a single one will survive, all will be eaten! After eating, their bones will be turned into Skeleton Soldiers, commanded by the undead to kill more people, never to find peace!"
The Mayor was startled, his legs trembling. Sun Busong's eyes were bloodshot, his hair stood on end, and veins bulged on his body, especially on his temples, looking as if they were about to burst.
Altaia was terrified. She was so scared that she stopped breathing. She stopped crying and looked up with tear-filled eyes, staring at Sun Busong's reddened eyes for a full minute!
Then, she stood up, turned around, walked to her cabinet, opened it, and took out a broadsword more than a meter long. She then began to undress, until only her underpants and bra remained.
The Mayor quickly lowered his head, but Sun Busong did not look away, staring at her back with anger.
After she put on her leather armor, she walked up to Sun Busong. "I will hold the west road. The undead are most numerous there, and they are also high level. I will have your people withdraw and guard the other two intersections. I won't cry anymore. Perhaps this is the last time we speak, the last time we meet. I just want to say one last thing."
She looked at Sun Busong's face and said with some regret, "It would have been so good if you had come to Night Town two years earlier!"
With that, she walked out of the Commander's office.
The Mayor no longer wanted to face Sun Busong alone.
"I'll go mobilize the remaining defensive forces in the town and have them gather to follow your command. I'll be going now."
Sun Busong didn't speak to him, just stared blankly ahead, not understanding the meaning of Altaia's words.
"Everyone, hurry up! Move those stones to the west gate of the town. The defenses there are a bit insufficient. And you, take that satchel of explosives to the east intersection. When it's absolutely necessary, blow them up!"
"I have some thick wooden boards at home. Come help me move them to the fortifications."
"I have some weapons and armor here. Everyone come and get them. You must hold the line!"
Some villagers, ready to fight the Necromancer to the bitter end, were using the last moments to build fortifications.
The Mayor also began to gather people for pre-war mobilization, at least to ensure the logistics for these combat personnel.
Sun Busong's mental energy was entirely focused on his professional skills. He started with his alchemy book, but after searching for a long time, he only found a Shadow Protection Potion: Level 17 required.
Usage: Absorbs 675 to 1125 Shadow damage for 2 minutes. (1 minute cooldown)
Since the Necromancer used Shadow-type magic, this potion would provide some protection. Moreover, the materials needed to make this potion were abundant within Night Town, called Grave Moss. A large graveyard like that could easily yield a lot.
There was nothing else after that. Although his professional skill was Grandmaster Level, he still needed materials to craft things. Furthermore, many Master Level potions had level restrictions for use.
After finishing with alchemy, he began to search his tailoring profession, but after a long time, he found no equipment that could counter the undead.
Then he started searching through leatherworking and blacksmithing. Finally, he actually found an item in leatherworking that could deal damage to the Necromancer!
Red Drake Gloves (Green Equipment):
Item Level 24
Leather Gloves
52 Armor
Durability 25 / 25
Item Level 24
Equip: Has a 5% chance when you hit an enemy to deal 50 Flame damage to them.
This equipment is green and has an equipment level of only 24. Anyone level 19 and above can equip it, whether they are a Professional or not.
From what the Mayor and Altaia revealed, the reason Necromancer Mobent Fell couldn't be killed was because that disgusting thing was immune to Physical damage! This means that only Magic users could damage its health bar with magic attacks; trying to kill it with melee would be futile.
Therefore, the only way to defeat it is by using magic attacks. However, the Imperial Guard members are all too low level, and only five of them can even damage the Necromancer. But if they could craft a batch of Red Drake Gloves, even if only twenty people could deal Flame damage once per second, it would be enough. Quantity can lead to a qualitative change.
"Mayor! Mayor! Has anyone seen the Mayor? Tell him to come up quickly, I have an urgent matter!" Sun Busong shouted out the window to the people below.
A moment later, the Mayor hurried up to the second floor. "My lord, what is it? Is there anything you need me to do?"
"There's no time to explain. You need to organize people immediately. I need Grave Moss and Red Drake Scales, the more the better. Time is of the essence. Are there any Leatherworking or Alchemy professionals in town? Have them all come over, I need to teach them the blueprints."
"Huh?" The Mayor was taken aback. At this critical moment, you're talking about collecting materials and crafting equipment?
"Hurry, don't waste time. There are still over 100 minutes until two o'clock!"
"Alright, I'll go right away!"
After the Mayor went to arrange for materials and personnel, Sun Busong continued to review his professional skills.
Upon opening Engineering, there were indeed many devices that could deal with the Necromancer, but these items required one to have learned the Engineering profession to use them.
"What the heck!"
Sun Busong angrily slammed the table, but he still found one usable item.
Simple Throwing Bomb IIID (White Device):
Requires Level 30
Use: Deals 213 to 287 Flame damage to targets within a 5-yard radius (provided the bomb works correctly). (1 minute cooldown)
"A bomb for non-Engineering professionals, it almost never explodes in your hand and its power is more than double that of a standard Simple Throwing Bomb!"
Sun Busong had a lot of Solid Bombs in his materials. This item was quite powerful, and Sun Busong decided to craft several hundred of them first.
Then he saw another type of bomb that required the Engineering profession to use. However, the bomb's power was immense, the only regret being that the materials were too rare and almost impossible to find in Duskwood.
Arcanite Grenade (Green Device):
Requires Engineering
Use: Deals 300 to 500 Flame damage to all enemies within a 3-yard radius and incapacitates them for 3 seconds. Any damage will interrupt this effect. Less effective against targets level 67 and above. (1 minute cooldown)
The required materials are Silver Ore Ingot and Runecloth! These two items can only be found in areas level 50 and above. However, Sun Busong still had some stock in his backpack. He spent a lot of time in black markets and trading areas during the year he learned skills from Master Hammer. Although he didn't have much, he could craft a dozen or so.
Finally, there was his Blacksmithing profession, but after searching for a long time, there wasn't a single piece of equipment he could use right now.
However, he remained undiscouraged. The fact that there was a chance to kill the Necromancer was the best news. While waiting for the Mayor, Sun Busong used the materials in his backpack to craft 18 Arcanite Grenades and 200 Simple Throwing Bomb IIIDs.
Seven Red Drake Gloves, as there were too few Red Drake Scales, he could only make this many. Next were 127 Shadow Protection Potions.
Just as he finished using the materials in his backpack, the Mayor walked in with six people.
"My lord, these are the people you asked for. And this bag contains the materials you requested. If there's nothing else, I'll be going down now." The Mayor now had a strange sense of obedience towards Sun Busong.
"Don't go yet, I need you to find a few more materials," Sun Busong called out to the Mayor, who was bowing his head and preparing to go downstairs.
"More materials?" The Mayor was a bit confused. There's less than an hour left, and you still want to craft things? Isn't the battle about to start?
"Just find them, don't ask so many questions! Also, for the materials I need, you can buy them from everyone in town. As long as everyone is alive after the battle, they can come to me for their money."
"You mean you want to buy them?"
"Yes! I'll buy them, at double the market price. I'll take as many as you can find!" Sun Busong had never been troubled by money since he arrived in this world.
After the Mayor left, Sun Busong patiently taught the few people present the crafting methods for Shadow Protection Potions and Red Drake Gloves.
However, among the six people the Mayor brought, two were Alchemists who could barely learn to make Shadow Protection Potions. The other two were only apprentices; they couldn't even understand the blueprints.
As for the two Leatherworkers, although they were both Leatherworkers, they lacked materials and opportunities to practice, so they had only theoretical knowledge without practical experience.
"Forget it, I'll do it for you to see. If you can learn it, you can earn some money later. If you can't, you can only blame yourselves for being stupid."
Actually, the Drake Gloves were truly exceptional. After reaching level 20, having a pair of Drake Gloves would make the Professional advancement trial much easier.
When the Mayor returned with the materials again, there were only 30 minutes left until the Necromancer's attack! Sun Busong was running out of time. He had the Mayor hand over the 36 crafted Drake Gloves, 350 bottles of Shadow Protection Potion, 200 Simple Throwing Bomb IIIDs, and over a thousand Greater Healing Potions to the combat personnel guarding the entrance. He also instructed him to come up every so often to deliver the items they crafted to those who needed them.
The Mayor was knowledgeable and took a look at the four items in his hand. Good heavens! These were all items urgently needed for this battle.
However, he was a bit puzzled why there were over a thousand Greater Healing Potions, which could be used at level 21. If these were converted into level 35 superior potions, the win rate for this battle would have increased by more than 20%.
Sun Busong saw the Mayor's confused expression and explained helplessly, "My people's levels aren't high, the highest is only level 26. These potions are prepared for them."
So that's how it is, the Mayor finally understood. "Don't worry, I'll prioritize delivering these items to your people."
With that, the Mayor quickly went down the stairs.
"Hey? Hey! That's not what I meant!" Sun Busong rushed out, but the Mayor had already disappeared.
Seeing that the Mayor was long gone, Sun Busong didn't chase after him. People are a bit selfish, and he was actually happy that the Mayor did that. After all, seeing people around you die is completely different from seeing people die on TV!
Welcome to new book friends, thank you [Life Between] for the seven recommendation tickets! Thank you.
