Where Did the Blind Man Hide the Well Water?
The next day, in Jaina's Mage Tower, Deren was studying a map on the wall when Jaina brought in tea.
Chromie, meanwhile, sprawled out in the chair, legs crossed in an unseemly posture, complaining, "Damn it, where is Illidan's well water? I can't see it in the Timeline!"
Aegwynn gave her an annoyed look. "You're Aspect Dragons, can't you sit still? Stop scurrying around like a cat in heat!"
"Don't mention any Aspect Dragons, I'll get angry if anyone does!" Chromie, now a stunning beauty, stood up with a long stride, walked up to Aegwynn, puffed out her chest. "I'm not afraid of you, hmph!" She swung her chest again.
Aegwynn was furious; her lips twitched violently, and she desperately wanted to blast her away with an Arcane.
But then I thought, I'm over a thousand years old, why bother arguing with a junior? No, this dragon is also several thousand years old, so I'm actually a bit younger. Oh well, I'll just let it go.
Jaina put down her tea and could only comfort the two elderly people, "Alright, alright, don't disturb Deren's thinking."
Deren was amused by the sight of the man and the dragon. "It's nothing, I was just thinking for too long, it's good to take a break."
He turned to Chromie and asked, "Do you remember Illidan's first battle after his release from prison, obtaining Skull of Gul'dan from the Pit Lord?"
Chromie nodded. "Yes, that was the Battle of Felwood Forest. He absorbed Fel Energy, quickly became demonized, and was then driven away by his older brother, who was also his love rival."
Deren continued, "Next, he held the Skull of Gul'dan on the beach and summoned the Naga Legion, right?"
Chromie's eyes raced across the scene. "Then he appeared at the Tomb of Sargeras and obtained the Eye of Sargeras."
Deren nodded. "Although he said Kil'jaeden found him in the forest, it's more likely he was subdued by Kil'jaeden in the Tomb of Sargeras. Then he went to the ruins of Dalaran to use the Eye of Sargeras to destroy the Frozen Throne. He also saved Tyrande's life along the way."
He eventually left for Outland. However, when he was imprisoned ten thousand years ago, the Tomb of Sargeras did not yet exist. Therefore, before going to Outland, he could only obtain the well water in Kalimdor.
Chromie stroked his chin, striking a thoughtful pose like a young detective. "And his movements in Kalimdor, from Felwood Forest to the coast where he summoned the Naga, are not particularly observable. The well water should be hidden somewhere along this route?"
Deren said, "This well water can't be hidden in the core area of Night Elf, otherwise it might be discovered even after ten thousand years."
Chromie agreed, saying, "So it's impossible in Felwood Forest, Mount Hyjal, or even Ashenvale."
Deren asked, "Where did he summon the Naga?"
Chromie glanced at it and said, "In Azshara the Naga's lair."
After thinking for a moment, Deren said, "The well water is hidden in Azshara or in southern Durotar."
He walked to the map, pointed to the Azshara Region, and said to Aegwynn, "Teacher Aegwynn, I think the probability of finding well water is very high in Azshara or even further south in Durotar."
Aegwynn walked to the map and studied it carefully, paying particular attention to the area between Azshara and Durotar, which was very close to Orgrimmar.
Pointing to the shattered city, she said, "Perhaps it's somewhere outside Orgrimmar. There are many cliffs and caves along the coast there; maybe the well water is hidden in a cave on one of those cliffs."
Deren said, "Azshara is the Naga's main area of activity, so the possibility of them hiding in the well is small. After all, the relationship between the Naga and Illidan is more about mutual exploitation. Ultimately, the Naga obey their Queen's orders."
If the Naga obtained Illidan's well water, they would have offered it directly to the Queen. There's no way they would have returned it to Illidan. Therefore, Durotar in southern Azshara has a better chance. It has been a desolate place since ancient times, Night Elf wouldn't go there. The Naga also dislike arid environments.
"If Illidan goes to Azshara to summon the Naga, it would be very convenient for him to make a trip to Durotar to get the well water, which is very close by."
Aegwynn replied, "Then I'll take Anveena with me, ride Nefarian, and secretly search from the south of Durotar at night, first along the coastline, and then north all the way to Orgrimmar."
If you don't find it, search westward along the Raging Sea again. If you still can't find it, circle back inland.
"Then I'll have to trouble you, Ms. Aegwynn." Deren sincerely thanked her. "Finding things is indeed a troublesome task. Anyway, it's better to look for something than to do nothing at all."
Aegwynn waved her hand dismissively. "I'm fine, but you'd better take good care of Jaina during this time. Otherwise, I'll make you regret it! Finding these two bottles of well water would be very important to me. I've already lost my youth; it would be even better if my magic could return as well."
"Don't worry! I'll take good care of her," Deren assured him.
In the evening, after resting, Aegwynn teleported with Anveena outside the city, where the tool dragon Nefarian was already waiting.
He asked in a muffled voice, "Teacher, where are we going to bomb this time?"
Aegwynn flicked his forehead with her Mage Hand: "Don't talk nonsense. We Theramore love peace the most. We've never bombed anyone. Are you asking for a beating?"
The Black Dragon quickly lay down, covered its head with its front paws, and begged for forgiveness, "I'm sorry, teacher, I misspoke. We love peace the most! I am the Black Dragon who loves peace the most!"
Aegwynn didn't waste any words with him, and walked straight to his head, saying, "This time we're going out to find something. We'll fly slowly along the coast of Durotar. Stop when I tell you to."
"Okay, teacher!" Black Dragon didn't dare to be too naughty anymore. If he angered the teacher, he would be severely punished again, and his sister would laugh at him. What a disgrace to the dragon.
Aegwynn pulled Anveena onto the saddle on the Black Dragon's back. He said to Anveena, "Good girl, we'll reach the other side of the coast soon. Once we reach that, unleash the Sunwell's magical energy to scan. If we hear any resonance from any magical source, we'll move closer to investigate."
"Yes, Ms. Aegwynn!" Anveena nodded obediently.
"Nefarian, take off!" Aegwynn shouted.
The Black Dragon flapped its wings, creating a surge of air, and with a powerful push of its hind legs, it leaped into the sky. With a few more powerful flaps, the earth receded rapidly, and the city was reduced to the size of a toy.
Then a strong gust of air blew by, messing up Anveena's hair. Fortunately, there was a safety rope securing her to the saddle, and although Little Sunwell's body swayed, she was not in danger.
Aegwynn cast a small windproof barrier, allowing airflow to pass through both sides of the barrier, thus protecting the two people from the effects of the airflow.
Nefarian checked the direction, circled halfway, and flew towards the northern bay. The calm sea shimmered with gold in the evening sunlight, and goblin transport ships occasionally drifted on the surface like small toys.
