Jerry took out the Compendium of Soul Beast Knowledge. It contained many Soul Beasts he had never known about before, including information on Ten Thousand Year Soul Beasts. Most of what he had learned at school concerned Hundred-Year Soul Beasts, with only a small portion covering Thousand-Year ones. After all, the Junior Soul Master Academy had limited materials. This book was a major supplement to Jerry's knowledge.

Jerry had previously considered learning about Soul Beasts from Master. After all, Master's knowledge of Soul Beasts had come from Spirit Hall and was fairly comprehensive. However, ever since Master learned that Jerry possessed Innate Half-Level Soul Power, he had looked down on him. Their meetings were never pleasant. Master, who had Innate Half-Level Soul Power, looked down on Jerry, who also had Innate Half-Level Soul Power, and Jerry looked down on Master as well. Whenever they met, they exchanged sarcastic barbs. Every time, Master advised Jerry, from the standpoint of someone with experience, to become an ordinary person.
