Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village with his father, Tang Hao. At his awakening ceremony, he manifested Blue Silver Grass with Innate Full Soul Power, while concealing the Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand on Tang Hao's instruction. The divine phenomenon caused by Lin Ming's awakening unsettled the hidden power within Tang San. 1 2

After the awakening, Tang Hao questioned him about any abnormalities. Tang San became absorbed in the paternal affection he had long lacked and failed to respond, leading Tang Hao to strike him unconscious before sending him to Nuoding Academy. 2 3

At Nuoding Academy, Tang San entered the Seventh Dormitory, became Yu Xiaogang's disciple, and encountered Lin Ming and Xiao Wu. He intervened in Lin Ming and Xiao Wu's contest out of a desire to protect Xiao Wu, but his interference was condemned by both the dormitory students and Yu Xiaogang. 7 8

Lin Ming's rapid advancement and unusually old first Soul Ring intensified Tang San's insecurity. After Lin Ming refused to reveal the ring's age, Tang San attempted to strike him with an anesthetic needle; Little Lei Yi restrained him before the attack could land. 19 21

Personality

Tang San is cautious, calculating, and highly protective of the people he considers close to him. He intervenes for Xiao Wu without hesitation and views his actions as upholding the Tang Sect principle of respecting elders and protecting the young. 8

He is also deeply competitive with Lin Ming. Tang San initially takes pride in his Innate Full Soul Power over Lin Ming's level-one aptitude, but Lin Ming's achievements turn that confidence into jealousy and resentment. 2 19 20
