Background / History

Mei Tingyu is Uncle Mumu's daughter and Tong Haojing's childhood classmate. As students, she and Tong Haojing witness Hu Lian's fatal jump near Tangdu Middle School. Their shared past also includes childhood outings by the Tangdu River and an unspoken mutual attraction. 1 4 11

After graduating, Mei Tingyu fails the college entrance examination. Uncle Mumu and Wang Xiyue arrange a meeting between her and Tong Haojing at Mengjing Teahouse, but Tong Haojing runs away rather than attend.
