As for the other wandering cultivators who chose to stay, they were all accepted as registered disciples of the West.
Their aptitude was unremarkable, but they had the heart for it.
If they were willing to work hard, they might well become accomplished someday.
Xuande put Wuzhen, Yuan Hong, Wuzhiqi, and Kong Xuan in charge of teaching them and arranging their cultivation.
Beneath the Bodhi Tree, Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti sat together, drinking Enlightenment Tea and discussing their new disciples.
"Medicine Master and Great Strength have exceptional aptitude and good hearts."
Jieyin said, "Medicine Master has an affinity for the way of healing. One day, he may use it to help the world;
Great Strength has an affinity for the way of light. One day, he may use it to uphold the righteous path. These two will be pillars of the West."
Zhunti smiled. "Maitreya, Sunlight, and Moonlight are promising too.
Maitreya has deep good fortune and a warm smile. He will surely form many good connections;
Sunlight's radiance reaches far and wide, while Moonlight is serene. The three complement one another perfectly.
I have high hopes for these three disciples."
Xuande said, "Ksitigarbha has tremendous resolve and compassion.
I have never seen resolve as strong as his. He is bound to accomplish something great one day.
And Diting can distinguish every sound and perceive all things. He will be a great help too."
Zhunti said, "We may not have taken in many disciples this time, but every one of them is outstanding.
Together with Wuzhen, Yuan Hong, Wuzhiqi, and Kong Xuan, they have given the West the beginnings of a strong foundation."
Jieyin said, "The registered disciples may have ordinary aptitude, but they have the heart for it.
With proper guidance, they too can become the backbone of the
