Ch. 157The Eight Trigrams Encompassed All Things, Fuxi's Decision

Fuxi taught the Later Heaven and Innate Eight Trigrams to cultivators gathered at Buzhou Mountain, allowing many listeners to connect the deduction Dao with their own paths. After several days, he finished the lectures and invited those with questions to return for guidance, while the independent cultivators departed to study what they had learned.

  • Nuwa opened the arena, and Fuxi presented jade lots as the disciples stepped forward to draw opponents.

Ch. 159The Six-eared Macaque's Changed Fate, Xuande's Gratification

Wuzhen faced Daoist Duobao in the tournament and proved that his perception and cultivation could withstand Duobao’s many spiritual treasures. After a powerful exchange, Wuzhen conceded rather than risk serious injury, and the two parted with mutual respect.

  • Wuzhen and Daoist Duobao drew matching talismans and became opponents in the tournament.
  • Xuande watched Wuzhen face Duobao and felt gratified that his disciple had escaped the fate he once faced in another Primordial Wilderness.
  • Wuzhen countered Duobao’s illusions, golden bell, Spirit-Settling Mirror, and Immortal-Binding Rope with his perception, composure, and movement skills.
  • Duobao unleashed Myriad Treasures Return to the Origin, and Wuzhen met it with a staff strike empowered by Merit Golden Light.
  • Both fighters were injured and driven back, so Wuzhen conceded; Duobao accepted his decision and invited him to Biyou Palace for another spar.

Ch. 160The Might of the Five-Colored Divine Light

Xuande reflected on Wuzhen’s growth after his draw with Duobao, then watched Kong Xuan defeat Golden Spirit Holy Mother in a contest that showcased the Five-Colored Divine Light. Kong Xuan returned her weapon after disarming her, and the match ended with both cultivators acknowledging each other.

  • The mighty cultivators praised Wuzhen and Duobao’s draw, and Xuande reassured Wuzhen that he had not disappointed him.
  • Xuande thought that Wuzhen would forge his own path and that the Six-eared Macaque whom Duobao had killed would never appear.
  • Kong Xuan was matched against Golden Spirit Holy Mother, who attacked him with her Dragon Tiger Jade Ruyi and Shangqing techniques.
  • Kong Xuan blocked her attacks with the Five-Element Heaven-and-Earth Fan and used his Five-Colored Divine Light to dissolve her dragon-and-tiger phantom.
  • At Golden Spirit Holy Mother’s urging, Kong Xuan unleashed the five colors of divine light, disarming her and sweeping away her defenses.
  • Kong Xuan returned the Dragon Tiger Jade Ruyi to Golden Spirit Holy Mother and thanked her for the match.

Ch. 161Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal's Grudge

  • Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal remembered how Kong Xuan had effortlessly beaten and humiliated him earlier, but hid his grudge and maintained a respectful appearance.

Ch. 162The Contests End, the Great Powers Expound the Dao

The disciples’ contests ended, and their masters offered guidance before the gathered powers and disciples exchanged insights. As the great powers began expounding the Dao on Buzhou Mountain, Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal concealed his resentment toward Kong Xuan and waited for an opportunity.

  • Bi Xiao, Qiong Xiao, Golden Hoop Immortal, and Ksitigarbha each lost their contests, while their opponents won; the disciples accepted the outcomes amicably.
  • Tongtian, Xuande, Hong Yun, and Zhenyuanzi advised their disciples and praised their performances, while Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal hid his resentment toward Kong Xuan.
  • The disciples paired off to discuss their battles, and Long-Eared Dingguang Immortal watched Kong Xuan and Golden Spirit Holy Mother from the edge of the crowd.
  • Fuxi proposed that the great powers expound the Dao, and Xuande, Tongtian, Nuwa, Zhenyuanzi, and Hong Yun began sharing their teachings on Buzhou Mountain.

Ch. 163Nuwa Tours the Primordial Wilderness

After the Dao lectures on Buzhou Mountain ended, Nuwa questioned the purpose of her Creation Dao and left to travel through the Primordial Wilderness in search of an answer. Seeing how living beings underwent Form Transformation to attain Dao bodies, she began to understand that this process might be central to her path, then continued into the West.

  • Fuxi, Tongtian, Xuande, Zhenyuanzi, Hong Yun, and the others bid farewell and departed Buzhou Mountain with their disciples.
  • Nuwa told Fuxi that she could not find the destination of her Creation Dao, and he encouraged her to seek an answer beyond Buzhou Mountain.
  • Nuwa traveled east, observing the other cultivators and factions across the Primordial Wilderness without disturbing them.
  • As Nuwa watched the many races and unaffiliated cultivators, she realized that all living beings underwent Form Transformation before attaining Dao bodies.
  • Nuwa entered the West and sensed the spiritual roots and Dao resonances around Mount Sumeru and the Three Immortal Islands.

Ch. 164Xuande's inspiration for Nuwa

Nuwa visited Xuande in the West seeking a path for her Creation Dao, and his questions led her to realize she should create a new race born with innate Dao Bodies. She settled beside Mount Sumeru to prepare the creation, while Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti kept watch.

  • Nuwa told Xuande that she could not find how to practice her Creation Dao after searching across the Primordial Wilderness.
  • Xuande explained that creating a wholly new kind of living being could be the greatest good deed and asked whether Nuwa had seen one born with an innate Dao Body.
  • Nuwa realized she should create a new race born with innate Dao Bodies, and Xuande offered her a suitable clearing at Mount Sumeru.
  • Nuwa thanked Xuande and began preparing to create humans, gathering her treasures and planning to use soil, Three Light Divine Water, Creation Power, and her blood essence.
  • Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti watched over Nuwa as she contemplated the Creation Dao beside the stream.

Ch. 165Great Divine Ability, Creation Manipulation

Nuwa used nine heavens breath soil, three light divine water, her blood essence, and the Universe Cauldron to create the first members of the Human Race. After awakening three hundred and sixty-five humans, she realized their numbers were too few.

  • Nuwa combined nine heavens breath soil, three light divine water, and her blood essence to sculpt a man and refine him in the Universe Cauldron for forty-nine days.
  • Nuwa created a woman and continued sculpting and refining humans until she had made three hundred and sixty-five.
  • Nuwa used Creation Manipulation to awaken the three hundred and sixty-five members of the Innate Human Race.
  • The first man and the other humans called Nuwa “Mother” and bowed to her.
  • Nuwa helped the humans rise and memorized their faces, but thought three hundred and sixty-five people were too few.

Ch. 166The rank of a Great Dao Sage

Nuwa created the Human Race and, following Xuande’s advice, proclaimed its birth to the Great Dao, earning its recognition and attaining the rank of a Great Dao Sage. She left the humans to establish themselves in the Primordial Wilderness as a new era began.

  • Nuwa created 10,800 humans from the remaining breath soil, divine water, and her blood essence, then used the Gourd Vine to create more than 120,000 additional humans.
  • The first man led the humans in declaring themselves the Human Race and vowed that they would survive, flourish, and build their own civilization.
  • Xuande stopped Nuwa from proclaiming the Human Race’s birth to the Heavenly Dao and urged her to seek the Great Dao’s recognition instead.
  • Nuwa proclaimed the Human Race to the Great Dao, which sent down merit that helped her sever her obsession corpse, unite her three corpses, and attain the rank of a Great Dao Sage.
  • Nuwa thanked Xuande for his guidance and told the Human Race to multiply, flourish, and establish its civilization under her and the Great Dao’s protection.

Ch. 167The Dao Ancestor's Message, Nuwa Entrusts the Human Race

After Nuwa became a Sage, Dao Ancestor Hongjun summoned her to Chaos to open a dwelling, and she entrusted Xuande with protecting and settling the newly created human race in the West. Across the Primordial Wilderness, the Three Pure Ones and the Demon Clan responded to her attainment by intensifying their efforts to pursue the Dao and prepare for the age of Sages.

  • Dao Ancestor Hongjun told Nuwa to go to Chaos and open a realm, and Nuwa asked Xuande to protect the human race and give them a home in the West.
  • Xuande promised to care for the humans, and Nuwa said farewell to them before departing beyond the nine heavens.
  • Xuande welcomed the humans at the foot of Mount Sumeru, where the first man and the different groups of humans rose to meet their new life.
  • Taiqing Laozi reflected on Nuwa's Creation Dao and returned to contemplating his own path, while Yuqing Yuanshi withdrew to cultivate, determined that the Pangu Orthodox Lineage would not fall behind.
  • Shangqing Tongtian praised Nuwa's achievement, urged his disciples to cultivate harder, and entered seclusion to contemplate the primordial violet qi.
  • Dijun ordered the Demon Clan to strengthen its forces and perfect the Great Array of the Stars, while declaring that the clan would not bow to the Sages.

Ch. 168Hong Yun's Free and Easy Spirit, Arrangements for the Human Race

After Nuwa attained the Dao, Hong Yun reflected on following his own path, while Randeng realized he needed to practice a Dao of his own and entered seclusion. Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti arranged for the newly created Human Race to settle at the foot of Mount Sumeru and receive help with survival.

  • Zhenyuanzi urged Hong Yun to pursue the Dao, but Hong Yun said each cultivator had a different path and refused to rush his attainment.
  • After witnessing Nuwa's attainment, Randeng recognized that he had not identified or practiced his own Dao, so he entered seclusion on Mount Sumeru.
  • West Queen Mother calmly continued cultivating her Serenity Dao after hearing that Nuwa had attained the Dao.
  • Houtu congratulated Nuwa, then urged Dijiang to strengthen the Witch Clan and perfect the Twelve Dutian Divine Fiends Formation; Dijiang agreed to summon the other Ancestral Witches.
  • Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti agreed to settle the Human Race at the foot of Mount Sumeru and teach them survival skills, while noting the promise of the three hundred and sixty-five members of the Innate Human Race.
  • Xuande sent Wuzhen, Yuan Hong, Wuzhiqi, Kong Xuan, and other disciples down the mountain to build dwellings and teach the humans basic survival skills.

Ch. 169Humanity's Gift, Minghe's Imitation

After Nuwa became a Sage, Xuande’s disciples taught the newborn Human Race how to survive, while Xuande sensed their growing Human Dao Fortune but no Heavenly Dao Merit. Minghe began creating the Asura Clan in hopes of attaining the Dao, and Nuwa opened a new world in Chaos with Wa Huang Palace at its center.

  • Xuande sent Wuzhen, Yuan Hong, Wuzhiqi, Kong Xuan, and several hundred disciples to teach the humans survival skills and build a settlement at Mount Sumeru.
  • The humans learned to make fire, build shelters, gather food, catch fish, predict weather, craft tools, sew garments, and fire pottery.
  • Xuande observed that teaching existing skills brought no Heavenly Dao Merit, though the Human Race’s growing fortune strengthened the West.
  • Minghe resolved to imitate Nuwa by creating the Asura Clan from the Blood Sea, his blood essence, and his Blood God Avatars.
  • Nuwa used the Universe Cauldron to create a world within Chaos and raised Wa Huang Palace at its center.

Ch. 170Nuwa's Plans for the Human Race, Mighty Figures Gather

Nuwa invited the mighty figures of the Primordial Wilderness to Wa Huang Palace to hear her expound the Creation Dao, hoping the gathering would help secure protection for the fragile Human Race. Three hundred years later, the guests assembled in her palace and waited for her to appear.

  • Nuwa announced that she would expound the Creation Dao at Wa Huang Palace in three hundred years and hoped to build ties that would help protect the Human Race.
  • Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti arranged for their disciples to remain in the West and look after the Human Race, then invited Randeng to join them.
  • The Three Pure Ones, Zhenyuanzi and Hong Yun, Houtu and Fuxi, West Queen Mother, Minghe, and others decided to attend Nuwa's sermon; Yuanfeng sent Azure Luan and Fire Phoenix in her place.
  • Three hundred years later, the guests arrived at Wa Huang Palace and took their seats, while Nuwa's cushion at the front remained empty.

Ch. 171Members of Wa Huang Palace, Fuxi Joins the Human Race

Nuwa finished her lecture on the Creation Dao, proclaimed protection for the human race, and accepted Azure Luan and Fire Phoenix into Wa Huang Palace. She asked Fuxi to guide the humans in the West, and he set out for their settlement near Mount Sumeru.

  • Nuwa concluded her lecture and declared that anyone who attacked the human race without cause would be her enemy for one Kalpa.
  • Laozi, Yuanshi, Tongtian, Jieyin, Zhunti, Xuande, and other mighty beings promised not to harm the humans, then departed Wa Huang Palace.
  • Azure Luan and Fire Phoenix asked Nuwa to shelter the Phoenix Clan, and Nuwa accepted them as her mount and maid.
  • Nuwa asked Fuxi to move to the West, teach the human race Bagua, and look after them; Fuxi agreed.
  • Fuxi left Wa Huang Palace and flew to the West, where he saw the human settlement at the foot of Mount Sumeru.

Ch. 172The Demon Clan's response, Houtu's awakening

Fuxi arrived on Mount Sumeru to help care for the Human Race, while the Demon Clan assessed humanity’s potential and focused on strengthening itself. Nuwa’s lecture also clarified Houtu’s path: she began to consider giving the dead a final home.

  • Fuxi explained Nuwa’s request to Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti, who welcomed him to the West.
  • Fuxi settled on Mount Sumeru, promised to protect the humans, and resolved to teach them the Deduction Dao and Bagua.
  • Dijun, Taiyi, and Kunpeng discussed the Human Race’s innate Dao bodies and rapid growth, then ordered the Demon Clan to strengthen its forces and complete the Great Array of the Stars within a hundred years.
  • Kunpeng said Minghe was trying to imitate Nuwa by creating a race in the Blood Sea, and Dijun chose to leave him alone.
  • Houtu reflected on Nuwa’s lecture and began to see her own Dao as finding a final home for the dead spirits.

Ch. 173The Human Race's Growth, the Houtu Tribe and the Human Race

The Human Race spread throughout the Primordial Wilderness, guided by Fuxi’s Bagua and skills taught by the West’s disciples. While Dijun ordered the Demon Clan to leave humans alone, the Houtu Tribe built a cooperative relationship with nearby humans, and Houtu told an elder that humans had helped the Witch Clan.

  • Fuxi taught humans Bagua divination, knotted-cord records, fishing, and basic ways to defend themselves, while Xuande sent disciples to teach them Sanskrit writing.
  • Humans migrated from the Ancestral Land across the Primordial Wilderness, adapting their tools and customs to different environments.
  • Dijun ordered the Demon Clan not to provoke or deliberately approach humans, though demons could retaliate if humans attacked first.
  • The Houtu Tribe cooperated with a nearby human tribe, whose crafts and practical skills complemented the witches’ strength.
  • Houtu visited the tribe, where witches and humans lived and worked together, and told an elderly human that his people had helped the Witch Clan.

Ch. 174Human Resolve Can Overcome Heaven, the Formation of a Supreme Human Dao Treasure

The Gourd Vine that Nuwa used to create humanity absorbed the Human Race’s prayers and fortune, transforming into the supreme Human Dao treasure known as the Human Creation Whip. The treasure chose Fuxi, who accepted it with Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti’s approval.

  • Humans in the ancestral land worshipped statues of Nuwa, Fuxi, Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti, along with the withered Gourd Vine used to create them.
  • Xuande discovered that Human Dao Fortune from the Human Race’s incense offerings was gathering in the Gourd Vine and restoring its vitality.
  • As humans across the Primordial Wilderness continued their annual prayers, the Gourd Vine absorbed their faith and developed blue-gold bark and mysterious patterns.
  • The Gourd Vine transformed into the Human Creation Whip amid manifestations of the Human Dao, and Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti went to the ancestral land to see it.
  • The Human Creation Whip floated to Fuxi and resonated with his ties to the Human Race.
  • Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti urged Fuxi to wield the treasure, and Fuxi accepted it, promising to discuss its stewardship with them if circumstances changed.

Ch. 175Nuwa creates a cultivation method

Nuwa agreed to create a cultivation method suited to the Human Race after Fuxi told her that humans lacked a proper path and one youth had died practicing an incompatible technique. After three thousand years of deduction, she completed a system rooted in the Creation Dao and linked to the common cultivation realms, leaving humans with a path toward Daluo Golden Immortal.

  • Fuxi told Xuande, Jieyin, and Zhunti that humans lacked a suitable cultivation method and proposed asking Nuwa to create one.
  • Fuxi sent Nuwa a message describing the Human Race's predicament, including the youth who had died from an incomplete Demon Clan method.
  • Nuwa agreed to personally create a cultivation method for the Human Race.
  • Nuwa spent three thousand years in seclusion, using the Universe Cauldron to deduce a method suited to human bodies and the established cultivation system.
  • Nuwa completed the method, guiding humans from refining essence, qi, and spirit toward cultivating the Five Qi, the Three Flowers, and ultimately the Daluo Golden Immortal Dao fruit.

Ch. 176The changing course of the Primordial Wilderness, Laozi's Dao

Nuwa bestowed humanity with the Creation True Scripture and, after Xuande pointed out its lack of physical cultivation, created a complementary body-tempering art. Xuande recognized that Nuwa’s growing role in humanity had changed Laozi’s potential path to Sagehood, but concluded that he should respond to the altered course of history rather than try to predict it.

  • Nuwa inscribed the Creation True Scripture and used her Creation Power to imprint it in the minds of humans across the Primordial Wilderness, then sent Jade Slips to Fuxi and Xuande’s group of three.
  • Fuxi praised the scripture, while Xuande warned that its focus on the Primordial Spirit left humans physically vulnerable; Fuxi passed the concern to Nuwa.
  • Nuwa spent three thousand years creating the Creation Body-Tempering Art, which she bestowed on humanity alongside the Creation True Scripture.
  • Xuande studied the new art and judged that the two methods together gave humanity a foundation for survival and cultivation in the Primordial Wilderness.
  • Xuande wondered whether Nuwa’s influence had blocked Laozi’s chance to instruct humanity, then concluded that history had changed and he needed to respond rather than predict Laozi’s path.
