| Armament Haki — initial awakening | 166 | Has begun sensing the power within herself but has not yet fully mastered Armament Haki. 166 |
Background / History
Robin spent twenty years surviving alone after the World Government branded her the “Child of the Devil.” At eight years old, she received a 79 million Belly bounty for allegedly destroying six Naval Warships; Will argues that the accusation was meant to ruin her reputation and leave her with nowhere to turn. 124 125 165
Before meeting Will, she served as Miss All Sunday, the vice president of Baroque Works. Although Crocodile was the organization’s public leader, Robin handled its finances and was effectively responsible for its operations and intelligence network. 98 105 117
Robin deliberately allowed Vivi to uncover Crocodile’s identity as Mr. 0, apparently maneuvering events toward a confrontation with him. When Will encountered her while she rode the sea turtle Binchi toward Alabasta, she agreed to guide him to Crocodile in exchange for access to Alabasta’s Poneglyph. 98 99 100
She betrayed Baroque Works, directed its Chief Commanders to assemble, and helped Will reach Crocodile at Rain Banquet. Following Crocodile’s defeat, Robin fulfilled her goal of viewing the Poneglyph beneath Alabasta’s royal tomb. 101 105 116 124
After Smoker exposed her wanted past, Will invited Robin to become a formal crew member and promised that no one would hurt her again. She accepted, finding a place where she no longer needed to flee alone. 124 125 126 165
Appearance
Robin is a slender black-haired woman with a cool, striking face, a straight nose, and a calm smile that rarely leaves her expression. At her first appearance, she wore a cowboy hat and traveled comfortably on Binchi’s back beneath a small sunshade. 98
- Long black hair. 98
- Calm, unhurried smile even in tense situations. 98 148
- Initially wears a cowboy hat. 98
- Usually carries herself with composed, deliberate body language. 101 126
Personality
Robin is observant, composed, and highly adaptable. Years of betrayal and life on the run taught her to assess power dynamics quickly, blend into unfamiliar groups, and avoid revealing more than necessary. 100 102 126
Her interest in history is genuine and intense. Ancient ruins and Poneglyphs hold more value to her than material treasure; she is visibly excited by Shandora’s surviving architecture and disappointed when a Poneglyph offers little historical information. 136 137
Since joining Will’s crew, Robin has become more trusting and loyal. When Kuzan questions why she did not flee alone, she explains that she has confidence in Will and chooses to remain with her companions. 161 165
