Chen Fu entered Shrek Academy because his refugee father revered the institution and wished for his son to fulfill that dream. At the academy, Chen Fu was physically weak enough to be defeated by Zhou Yi's endurance training and was later humiliated in a sparring match by a major-sect student; Ma Xiaotao intervened when he considered leaving school. 123 228 329

Rather than receiving extraordinary opportunities, medicinal treasures, or a resident mentor, Chen Fu built his position through memories from a previous life and sustained research. His knowledge helped his father organize people, seize territory, and establish cities during chaotic times, while Chen Fu himself developed Soul Tools and the Ark energy system. 32

After exhausting Instructor Fan Yu's teachings, he left the academy. He refused the Tang Sect's offer to become a Guest Elder, but continued making custom Soul Tools for individuals in need, including Nirvana for Ma Xiaotao and Emerald for Mo Ling. 2 5
