Background / History

The Uchiha and Senju are recorded in the Sarutobi Clan Chronicles as descendants of ancient sages, though the account is treated as semi-mythical. Alongside Senju Hashirama, Uchiha Madara helped end the Warring States Period, establish Konoha, and capture the Tailed Beasts. Despite Madara’s later departure, the overwhelming majority of the clan remained in the village. 2 10 50

Madara’s departure and death at the Valley of the End left a lasting political wound. Uchiha elders maintain that Madara called for the clan to follow him, but most members refused to return to an existence of constant war.
