Obito is calculating and secretive, operating behind the identity of “Madara” while manipulating the conflict between Konoha and the Uchiha. He considers powerful Uchiha such as Shisui and Itachi threats to his larger plan, and supports the clan massacre to prevent further uncontrollable dōjutsu users from emerging. 15

His stated ideal is a peaceful world achieved through the Eye of the Moon Plan, but his methods include sacrificing others and arranging the destruction of his own clan. Uchiha Clan Annihilation Conspiracy

Operating as the Masked Man, Obito meets Itachi outside Konoha and reaches an agreement to eliminate the Uchiha clan while preserving Sasuke. He later infiltrates the Konoha Security Department to begin the massacre personally, viewing the clan members as expendable pieces in his revenge plan. 82 85

His operation is interrupted by Indra, who saves an Uchiha guard and confronts Obito as the clan’s progenitor. Obito is overwhelmed by Indra’s chakra and realizes that the planned massacre has drawn the attention of forces beyond his expectations. 85 86 88

Attempt to Contain Genki

Obito arrives during Genki’s initial rampage disguised as “Madara.” Itachi suspects him of orchestrating the disaster, while Obito claims that he had been occupied with the remnants of the Police Force. 6

He saves Itachi with Kamui, then joins Itachi and Fugaku in an attempt to disrupt Genki’s Susanoo and domain. His role is primarily defensive: distorting incoming attacks and creating openings for the other Uchiha to strike the Susanoo’s weak points. 8 9 10

Obito eventually admits to himself that his effort is not altruistic. He wants Genki eliminated because the rampage threatens the Eye of the Moon Plan and has created an existence beyond his control. 15 16

Genki’s Pursuit

After Genki turns his attention to Obito’s Mangekyō Sharingan, Obito attempts to flee with Kamui but finds every activation interrupted by Genki’s attacks. Hagoromo recognizes that Genki intends to devour Obito’s ocular power. 24 25

Genki destroys the Land of Water and then Amegakure while demanding Obito surrender. Obito hides beneath Amegakure’s ruins, but Genki locates him and forces him to expend Izanagi and his Sharingan in successive attempts to survive. 32 33 34

With his Kamui dimension destroyed and every Sharingan depleted, Obito is left blind, injured, and unable to flee. Black Zetsu briefly extracts him from Genki’s grasp, but both are pursued into a fissure; Genki traps their souls with Ōkuninushi and sends them into eternal hell through Magatsunokami. 36 37 38

Genki’s Torment

In later events, Genki captures Obito alongside Kakashi and subjects him to pain designed to make death seem merciful. Soul Power ruptures Obito’s cells, while black spikes pierce him without allowing a quick death. 67

Genki resurrects Rin and forces her to choose between Kakashi and Obito. Obito is compelled to stab Rin himself, after which he collapses in grief and guilt. 68 69 70

Genki subsequently traps Obito’s soul in a genjutsu hell where he is forced to relive Rin’s death repeatedly. 71

Final Sentence

When Genki confronts Obito at the Konoha Military Police Force headquarters, he declares that Obito will be crippled and that Rin will be revived as a breeding tool for the Uchiha clan. Obito responds with desperate resistance, but Genki immobilizes him using Takamagahara Power. 96

Genki then repeatedly shatters and restores Obito’s body, burns his soul, alters his memories of Rin, and forces hallucinations intended to destroy his remaining will. 97 98
