Background / History

Tang San had lived two lives and adhered to the Tang Sect's Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, whose principles shaped his willingness to retaliate against perceived enemies. At Nuoding Academy, he intervened when Ye Wen assaulted his teacher, Yu Xiaogang, beginning a conflict with the opponent destined for his Fated Duel. Ye Wen could not kill Tang San before the required trial, but repeatedly defeated him to undermine his confidence. 15 16

After Ye Wen's second decisive victory and Xiao Wu's departure under Ye Wen's Master-Servant Contract, Tang San fell into a prolonged depression and stopped cultivating. Tang Hao eventually revealed himself after six years apart, encouraged Tang San to rely on his Twin Martial Souls, and personally guided his training. 100 102 103

Ye Wen later killed both Tang Hao and Yu Xiaogang, leaving Tang San despondent and vulnerable to manipulation. At Ye Wen's request, Qian Renxue gave Tang San the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud and directed him toward Sea God Island, restoring his ambition to become a god and take revenge. 163 171

Personality

Tang San is calculating in battle and readily combines martial souls, movement techniques, hidden weapons, and tactical planning. He led his team through dangerous travel toward Sea God Island, selected a Devil Octopus for the regenerative and flexible qualities he wanted for Blue Silver Emperor, and later sought to accelerate his cultivation by adding rings to the Clear Sky Hammer. 83 184 246 247

His central motivation becomes revenge against Ye Wen. Repeated defeats leave him fearful and despondent, but support from Tang Hao, the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud, Sea God trials, and rapid breakthroughs repeatedly restore his confidence. This confidence often turns into overconfidence after major gains, particularly after obtaining the Sea God's Trident and the Sea God's direct empowerment. 102 171 211 251 259

After Tang Hao and Yu Xiaogang's deaths, Tang San's hatred escalates. He attempts to abduct Shui Bing'er solely to hurt Ye Wen, is defeated by her, and later abandons the battlefield while his companions choose to remain and fight. 168 220

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass—later awakened as Blue Silver Emperor—and the Clear Sky Hammer. Tang Hao considers the ability to cultivate both martial souls to nine rings Tang San's greatest advantage. 103 176

  • Blue Silver Grass / Blue Silver Emperor

    • Uses control skills including Entangle, Blue Silver Bind, and Spider Web Restraint. 99 100
    • Awakened into the top-tier Blue Silver Emperor at Level 50 and gained the Blue Silver Domain. 176 177
    • His sixth ring came from a Devil Octopus; its resulting skill differs from the expected original version, but its exact effect is not stated. 184
    • Before its awakening, its control effects and paralysis were ineffective against Ye Wen's defenses. 16 99
  • Clear Sky Hammer

    • First used directly against Ye Wen during the Soul Master Tournament. 127
    • Received multiple sea soul beast rings under Bo Saixi's guidance; the second documented Soul Skill is Seal Strength Hammer. 247
    • Its fifth Soul Ring pushed Tang San to Level 90 and made him a Titled Douluo. 253

Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer

A Clear Sky Sect ultimate technique taught to Tang San by Tang Hao. Each consecutive hammer strike increases the next strike's power; the eighty-first blow equals the combined force of the preceding eighty. 107 127

  • Tang San stacked the technique to twenty-five strikes against Ye Wen. 128
  • Ye Wen comprehended and used the technique against him, breaking all eight of Tang San's Eight Spider Lances during a consecutive hammer assault. 128 129
  • The technique requires uninterrupted chaining; its buildup can be disrupted before its higher-count strikes are reached. 127 169

Tang Sect Techniques and Hidden Weapons

Tang San employs Tang Sect combat arts alongside his martial souls.

  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — evasive footwork used while launching hidden-weapon barrages. 99 100

  • Bat Wing Samsara — his intended decisive hidden-weapon technique during the tournament fight with Ye Wen. 129
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbow — a hidden weapon Tang San created and mass-produced for sale. 344

Eight Spider Lances

Tang San possesses the Eight Spider Lances as an External Soul Bone, which increases his overall attributes when deployed. 129

  • The lances are fused to his body and their destruction causes extreme pain. 129
  • Ye Wen shattered all eight with Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer strikes. 129

Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud

Qian Renxue gave Tang San the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud under the pretense that it was a Heaven Dou Empire gift. It recognized his blood and became the foundation of his path to Sea God Island. 171

  • Vast Sea Protective Shroud — conceals his form and aura. 171 257
  • Cosmic Spirit Locking Shroud — restrains skills and immobilizes targets whose spiritual power is less than triple Tang San's. 171
  • Vast Sea Raging Waves — area-of-effect attack. 171
  • Cosmic Demon Breaking — single-target attack. 171

Sea God Inheritance

Tang San received the Sea God Nine Trials at the Sea Horse Sacred Pillar, marked by a golden trident between his brows. 185

  • Completed the fourth trial for a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring and Soul Bone. 211
  • Completed the seventh trial by drawing the Sea God's Trident. 251
  • The eighth trial required him to reach nine rings, gather six Soul Bones, and kill Ye Wen within five years. 251
  • Sea God's Trident — divine artifact weighing 108,000 jin, granting access to the Thirteen Forms of the Sea God. 251
  • Never Return — the third form of the Thirteen Forms, a powerful single-target divine-artifact attack used against Ye Wen. 259
  • The Sea God later supplied Tang San with stored divine power through the Trident, briefly raising him to a level near a Third-level God. 259

  • Eight Spider Lances — External Soul Bone; shattered by Ye Wen during their tournament battle. 129

  • Tang Hao — father and later cultivation mentor; Tang Hao revealed his status as a Titled Douluo to rebuild Tang San's resolve. 102 103
  • Yu Xiaogang — teacher whose assault by Ye Wen prompted Tang San's first confrontation with Ye Wen; later killed by Ye Wen. 15 99 163
  • Xiao Wu — close companion who supported Tang San during his earlier battles; she accepted Ye Wen's Master-Servant Contract and left Tang San. 83 99 100
