The place where Yuzuru and the others met Shimura Danzō wasn't the command tent at the front-line camp, but the place where Danzō lived and rested. Compared with the former, the latter was clearly much more private.

"Lord Danzō."

After receiving permission, the two walked straight into the tent, and then Shinnosuke Kohinata greeted him.

Shimura Danzō was dressed in ordinary clothes, without any weapons or gear on him. He sat there reading a scroll, looking quite relaxed.

"You're here."

Danzō glanced at the two of them. He set down the scroll in his hand, then reached up to rub the bridge of his nose before finally speaking.

Yuzuru thought, Aren't you overdoing it? So "concerned for the country and its people"—do you really think you're the Hokage?

"Lord Danzō, may I ask why you summoned us?" Shinnosuke Kohinata asked directly.

There was a huge difference in status between them. Danzō couldn't have called them over just to chat.

Danzō looked at Shinnosuke Kohinata, then at Yuzuru, and nodded to himself. He had a fairly strong impression of Yuzuru, since Yuzuru had once accompanied Torifu Akimichi on a mission and had also independently brought back important intelligence about Iwagakure's Jinchuriki.

So even without the battle in the Land of Rivers, he already had a good opinion of Yuzuru's abilities.

"Based on your performance on the battlefield, it's clear that both of you are very capable. You're already beyond the level of Chunin, and your futures look bright. I have high hopes for you... I'm thinking of transferring you to my personal unit. What do you think?"

Yuzuru hadn't expected Shimura Danzō to speak so politely. Although the man had an overbearing streak deep down that was hard to refuse, at least he left some room for discussion when he spoke.
