Background / History

Souya was an unfortunate youth from another Earth who died and was reborn as a war orphan in Sunagakure. Raised by monks, he entered the Ninja Academy, where his talent, perseverance, and deliberate efforts to befriend Sasori formed the basis of their enduring partnership. Though his new body possessed no Kekkei Genkai and only modest chakra reserves, his unusually powerful soul gave him remarkable chakra control. 1 2

After graduation, the Third Kazekage tested Souya and accepted him as a personal disciple. Souya and Sasori were subsequently placed on the same team. When news of White Fang’s death left Sasori without a target for revenge, Souya redirected his friend toward the possibility of reviving the dead through Konoha’s forbidden techniques, preventing Sasori from immediately turning his hatred toward the Kazekage. 1 2

As the Kazekage’s disciple, Souya became deeply involved in Sunagakure’s military, economic, and political development. He supported river-diversion projects intended to create oases, proposed reforms to ninja education and civil administration, and advocated removing the Daimyo and powerful families as obstacles to Sunagakure’s authority. 15 63 74 104

He is also politically ruthless. Souya advocates assassinations, manipulation of factions, and the destruction of witnesses when he considers them necessary for Sunagakure’s growth. His long-term aim is not merely village strength, but the unification of the Ninja World. 63 74 139
