Background / History

Minato first appears at Kikyo Mountain during Sunagakure’s invasion of the Land of Fire. His arrival restores the confidence of the surviving Konoha forces, who throw his specially marked kunai toward the enemy so that he can take over the battle. He immediately confronts the Third Kazekage and evades Iron Sand techniques through Space-Time Ninjutsu. 43 47

During the Battle of Kikyo Mountain, Minato fights alongside his teacher Jiraiya against the Third Kazekage, Souya, and Sasori. His Flying Thunder God mobility repeatedly prevents Sunagakure’s attacks from containing him, while his sealing skill earns particular notice from Souya. After the battle, Minato acknowledges Souya’s potential and praises his Gold Dust Sealing Technique. 48 55
