Naruto removed his hand from patting Haruno Sakura's hair and swiftly grabbed Sasuke by the neck, lifting him high into the air.
Sasuke's face visibly reddened as he kicked his legs in mid-air.
"Naruto! What are you doing! Let go!" Haruno Sakura's large, bright emerald eyes widened instantly as she grabbed Naruto's arm and shook it forcefully.
However, Naruto didn't let go, watching Sasuke struggle.
He wasn't good at resolving emotional issues to begin with. His adoptive brother, Haku, was even worse, treating his childhood friend like a whore, then chasing her for years unsuccessfully, only to finally force her to strip and violate her as the young master of the Heavenly Kingdom.
With that failed example before him, he decided to give Haruno Sakura more respect, as she was his first love.
He distinctly remembered the stunning, dazed feeling he had the first time he saw Haruno Sakura. It was a stirring of the heart from his genes, a biological instinctual desire.
Naruto wanted to satisfy his desires.
But seeing that Sasuke could make Haruno Sakura force herself with just a word, he felt anger.
What made him even angrier was that his power couldn't change the fact that Haruno Sakura was Sasuke's lapdog.
Sasuke pushed his arm, his Sharingan activated on his purplish-red face. He tried to form hand seals, but Naruto batted them away time and time again.
Haruno Sakura cried beside him, sobbing loudly, tears streaming down her face. She cried heartbrokenly, her voice hoarse, shouting, "Naruto! We are comrades!"
Yes, Naruto knew. It was their freedom to be in a relationship where one was willing and the other was willing.
But he was unhappy.
Could he lie to himself and say he didn't care about this bitch?
No.
"Naruto! I promise! I'll go out with you! You... you let go of Sasuke quickly! He's going to die! He's really going to die!"
Haruno Sakura was sobbing uncontrollably.
Naruto really let go, flinging Sasuke to the ground.
An unprecedented humiliation crashed into Sasuke's heart. He was let go because Haruno Sakura begged for mercy.
Years of pent-up pressure and pain burned with his memories.
In his blood-red pupils, black dots spun and solidified. That was the second tomoe of the Sharingan.
He felt himself grow stronger. The world in his eyes became clearer. He pushed himself up, gathered power in the air, and swung a fist, ready to fight Naruto again.
Naruto, however, had no intention of playing with Sasuke anymore. He delivered a whip kick to Sasuke's stomach, sending him flying five meters before smashing him off the bridge into the swift river.
He didn't even glance at Haruno Sakura.
Agreeing to him for someone else?
What kind of thing was that?
So dirty.
Haruno Sakura looked at Sasuke, who stood in the river, drenched and lost, then at Naruto, who walked away with his back turned, not saying a word.
Tears flowed uncontrollably. She didn't know what to do.
But she had to say something. She had to.
"Naruto! Sasuke!"
Her expression completely collapsed. Her nails dug into her palms. She curled into herself, her voice breaking as she shouted, "I just like both of you! What did I do wrong!"
After speaking, Haruno Sakura's expression instantly became resolute.
She understood. It turned out she wanted both of them!
Her voice suddenly became confident, and her actions immediately became brave. She chased after Naruto, spread her arms, and blocked his path, hugging him with all her might.
She quickly stood on her tiptoes and kissed Naruto with her cherry lips, wanting to offer her first kiss to the person she liked and who liked her back.
Slap!
Naruto slapped Haruno Sakura's left cheek. It didn't hurt, but it was loud, leaving a large red handprint.
"Get lost!"
Then, with a swing of his arm, he flung Haruno Sakura to the ground.
But a Haruno Sakura with a resolute heart wouldn't be driven away just by being hit, would she?
She got up from the ground, the fire in her eyes burning intensely. Chasing one was chasing, and chasing two was also chasing. Since Sasuke wasn't interested in her, she would start with Naruto!
"Naruto! I will participate in the Chunin Exams. I'll wait for you at the school gate tomorrow!"
"Insolent." Naruto's eyes were cold. "Women are damn harder to understand than magnetic fields."
The next day, the sun was shining brightly.
Naruto woke up at two in the afternoon.
He practiced with the Kubikiribōchō all night, only sleeping when the birds chirped and the sky brightened.
Before sleeping, he'd made a decision: if he slept past 4 PM today, he wouldn't participate in the Chunin Exams. But now it was 2 PM.
A promise is a promise. He got up.
Carrying the Kubikiribōchō, Naruto arrived at the Ninja Academy.
At the entrance, Sasuke stood with his usual cold, tilted head, while Haruno Sakura waved enthusiastically at him, as if nothing had happened yesterday.
"I knew you'd come," Haruno Sakura said, her smile exceptionally bright, her eyes shining as she looked at Naruto.
Sasuke had been feeling terrible yesterday, upset that Naruto had hit him over a woman. But when he looked in the mirror and saw his two-tomoe Sharingan, his anger vanished.
Could being pushed to my breaking point by Naruto make me stronger? He had an idea.
The three walked into the school building. A crowd of ninjas had gathered in front of classroom 301.
Two older ninjas, faces full of arrogance, blocked the doorway, preventing anyone from entering. They had also beaten down a Konoha ninja with a bowl cut, thick eyebrows, and a green bodysuit.
But Naruto's attention fell on the long-haired man next to the bowl-cut ninja.
It was because he possessed the Byakugan, the same eyes as Hinata.
Naruto didn't approach him to ask. Just because Hinata was a good girl didn't mean everyone in the Hyuga Clan was. He'd already seen what the head of the Hyuga Clan was like.
He walked straight towards the arrogant guards, drawing the Kubikiribōchō.
A one-meter-sixty teenager in a trench coat, wielding a two-and-a-half-meter sword – the exaggerated appearance instantly drew everyone's attention.
Naruto held his sword horizontally. "Move."
His imposing aura silenced the entire hallway.
At this moment, Haruno Sakura tugged at his sleeve and whispered in his ear, "This is 201. It's disguised by Genjutsu. They're probably Konoha examiners pretending, testing the candidates' eyes."
Sasuke also walked to his left, pulling him inside with Haruno Sakura.
Naruto had to admit, his teammates were somewhat useful. They could defuse awkward situations. Though he was both intelligent and brave, he occasionally made mistakes.
The numbers on each classroom door had been changed. The first hurdle before registering for the exams was to find 301.
As the three walked, a passionate shout suddenly rang out from behind them.
"Wait!"
The bowl-cut ninja excitedly ran in front of Haruno Sakura, raising his thick eyebrows. "You're Sakura, right! My name is Rock Lee!"
Haruno Sakura didn't recognize this guy. She frowned at his green bodysuit. "What is it?"
"Please go out with me! I'll protect you with my life!" Rock Lee gave a thumbs-up, his teeth shining white.
Haruno Sakura decisively shook her head and hugged Naruto's arm. "I'm sorry, I already like someone."
Rock Lee drooped his head in dejection for a second, then immediately lifted it, looking at Naruto. "You're the top student of the new class, the genius ninja Uchiha Sasuke, right!"
Sasuke said sinisterly, "That's me."
Rock Lee looked at Naruto in confusion. "Then who are you?"
Haruno Sakura raised her arm and shouted, "Uzumaki Naruto!"
Rock Lee had naturally heard that name, but the Demon Fox he remembered was the dead last who failed the graduation exam multiple times.
Yet, this trench-coat-wearing man carrying a large sword before him was clearly powerful, incredibly so.
It made him want to fight right now.
But time was running out.
He needed to complete his plan first, to test if his techniques could surpass the Sharingan. "Sasuke! Fight me!"
Sasuke hadn't replied yet.
A cold voice suddenly came from behind the group. "Are you Uzumaki Naruto?"
As the words finished, the long-haired man with the Byakugan flashed beside Rock Lee, looking down at Naruto.
"I am Hyuga Neji. I've been ordered by the clan head to stop you from approaching Lady Hinata and to eliminate you."
